@blackmanone
"Addiction" isn't always considered the way cigarettes are addictive. You can be addicted to masturbation, video games, gambling, and anything else. Anything that relates to pleasure, accomplishment, satisfaction or any other emotional feelings can lead to addiction.
I've first hand experienced people who were 'addicted' to weed. Using it to remain calm, to be able to sleep, to work, and to even socialise. They became so...
Seriously. These pics have jaggies and low res textures, disgraceful to even be called 'next gen'.
And once upon a time people didn't want to use entire rooms to fit a computer in their house, but they walk around with them in their pockets now.
The way I see it is AR will be used for every day tasks, such as driving, walking, etc. VR will be used for entertainment purposes the way TV and gaming is at the moment.
This article wasn't actually anything to do with AR though, so I'm not really seeing how this comment was relevant.
And that's how big businesses work. Why don't people say the same about Sony? They buy up small companies and provide them with money to continue on, yet they aren't seen as "bad" so nobody cares.
Google has bought HEAPS of companies you have probably never even heard of, and yet they still strive to innovate. The only failed idea they have yet to let go is google+.
And how are Facebook trying to remain relevant? Sure their social media ...
@ExCest
Maybe some people realise that free sites run off of ad revenue so they choose not to use it.
More people = more bandwidth = more money needed.
All the companies you named have made their own (extremely popular) products...
Ouya was never meant to be a competitor in the console 'war'. Next people will be claiming Amazon's 'console' is meant to be a competitor.
Despite what N4G says, mobile gaming is HUGE, and since the teams and budgets are far smaller the profit made is even bigger. How much do you think Candy Crush's budget was in comparison to GTA? Compare team size as well.
I don't think those are the 'proper' definitions.
A casual is someone who plays casually (hence the name), where as a hardcore player takes their stuff very serious.
You can casually play World of Warcraft, where you just jump on and level a little bit and have no idea about the game.
You can also number crunch to increase your DPS to the absolute maximum whilst studying raid logs to find out how to squeeze out even more damage. T...
And that's meant to support your claim? That flower is better than all those other games? That basically proves just how little reviews mean.
The tweet is from a few days ago, and the news has been on many gaming sites...
I'm not to sure how a game dev changing to a new studio is fuel for a fanboy war either...
Experience next gen visuals* with a crystal clear 900p resolution and buttery smooth 30FPS.
*only possible on consoles
I'm starting to think that console developers are subliminally making gamers stupider. The amount of crap that has popped up in the last year that gamers think they are entitled to or deserve is amazing.
Input won't be "solved" until we get something similar to hooking our brain up. Take GTA for example: you have guns, walking, driving, skydiving, riding bikes, etc. How many peripherals do you think can even fit in a room?
That being said I am perfectly fine using keyboard/mouse, hydra or controller.
Crap framerate and resolution on already well known architecture. Not good news for this gen.
@memots Nintendo didn't start in video games.
I'm also no mathematician but I don't think 1889 - 1886 is 100 years.
There are plenty of changes through generation than just framerate and resolution. The increase in RAM and CPU alone means that multi-tasking is much easier now (people haven't already forgotten the YEARS of people asking for party chat on PS3 have they?). Throw in the fact that the industry will move forward with or without you, and you are suddenly left with the inability to play new games because they simply are not released on older platforms.
Love how a new game is shown off and the first questions are about framerate and resolution. You fanboys play on systems known for crap framerate and resolution and yet you care so much for it. Just shut up and enjoy the game for what it's meant to be.
Not sure why American's always think everything is always about them, but it doesn't matter how good your infrastructure is, there is not a known method to improve the speed of the data transmission.
The only way this will be semi-viable is if the warehouses are built locally so that everyone's ping to their local warehouse is extremely low. That's an infrastructure problem that doesn't have much to do with a monopoly, or speeds, or data caps, it is a loca...
So locked hardware with well known architecture can't even match mid-range GPUs that will run it with higher graphics, higher resolution, and double the framerate. Hope these consoles won't hold back PCs within the next few years when the gap gets even bigger.
