Did I seriously just read that we don't know if software can be changed through a software update?
Edit: Texture resolution is not dependant on resolution of the game, assets don't have to be reworked, how do you think 4k games on PC work for older games?
Do you honestly think that a game STARTS by some dude drag and dropping assets? You know there is story planning, feature planning, level design and much more that don't have to even involve somebody touching a computer?
Right, because no console trailer ever shows things that aren't sold separately... like games.
I just hope they have the same frame of mind for PC and pump out some truly amazing graphics and don't hold back.
Asinine because they don't deal with the heap of shit that was GFWL or the fact that MS tried to get people to pay for online? Yes, Gears of War required Gold to play online. The matter of fact is Steam is DRM done right, consumer don't mind it (yes DRM free would be better), and developers love it.
Rumour has it they were top of the class and have over 300 confirmed kills.
I'd recommend you learn what a prototype is, this clearly isn't a consumer version.
It must suck being a game developer. "It's always the same", so they take the same gameplay and change the setting and everything else and now it's "It's just a re-skin". There really is no pleasing today's gamers. Do you want Battlefield to be an Olympic simulation or something? I'm glad they are changing the game but keeping similar gameplay.
Mega-franchise because they are making a sequel to a game that came out three years ago? I guess we have different meanings for that.
If anything I'd say it's a good thing because they ARE making another game even though it didn't sell well. It means that some companies continue to make games even though they didn't sell 5 million copies or whatever.
Edit: And the graphics aren't even good so I'm not sure how you got to that, it looks ...
Exactly, one of the only comments in the entire thread that actually makes sense. I guess you get disagrees because people don't even know what an API is or what it is used for, they just know it is a word that developers talk about so assume it is magic. There are even quotes from ND saying that they specifically work in ASM for certain heavy computational tasks.
It doesn't take a genius to know that the more low level you go, the more control you have. DirectX will ALWAYS be higher level than directly developing to the console will be, that's the whole point of it! It is meant to be easy, and as such it does lot's of things for you, but may not be EXACTLY how you want it to be done. When consoles start getting down to minuscule optimisations such as what was seen near the end of PS3 life you simply cannot totally rely on an API that was d...
I guess you never kept up to date after the week or so it took fans to stop caring about the Facebook acquisition.
Did you forget the huge names that joined the team? The fact that almost every developer at every VR conference is now using OR? The fact that by the day more devs are supporting it?
Oh that's right you don't actually follow this at all and just talk shit.
Ah yes, fond memories of bank heists, hostage situations, driving cars and choppers, grapple hook up buildings, using zip lines, and much more in CoD...
That's a TV problem, not a GPU problem. NVidia can't help that you buy something that doesn't have the necessary output to display something.
Guess they are lucky it has a Display Port for 4k then, though I guess the people who want multi-screen 4k are going to be disappointed.
It's stated in the article that they made changes to the system to remove asset duplication. There is no way this game would even have 20GB of code, yet alone the ability to 'optimise' the code so much that is reduced by 20GB.
Or you know, games get delayed because things happen just like in EVERY software field.
What was the reason for Diablo 3's 12 year development and Duke Nukem Forever's 15 year development?
There is always that one person who calls 'conspiracy' against anything a company does.
CTF was dead even at launch, which sucked because it was my favourite game mode but it was so hard to find a match.
Pressing E + S + CTRL feels really weird using ESDF.
And how come Z can't be used in WASD yet X can be used in ESDF? They are in essentially the same position...
"arcade playstyle with no real goal at all"
Did you get an exclusive look at the game that we didn't see? It was just prototype gameplay, they have barely anything set in stole, yet alone finalisation of what the game is going to contain.
