Would this be the first time that a console has dropped its price by $200 in under a year and a half if it's true?
I hope the 360 never puts motion sensing in its controller. It's gimmicky and annoying, in my opinion. Call me old-fashioned.
Super Smash Bros. will likely win, followed by the mighty Halo 3.
Video game scores, like movie and book reviews, are purely subjective. If it wasn't opinion, then every score would be the same if we used the same ratings scale. The fact that so many places are giving BioShock such high scores indicate that this is one hell of a game. There are always going to be people that agree and disagree.
Would I give this game a perfect 10/10? Probably not, but it's in the 8.5 - 9 range. Nevertheless, BioShock is incredible, and a Game of the Year...
The 360 and PS3 have been selling roughly the same for a few months. Notice I said ROUGHLY. The console war will be a price drop war. The hardcore gamers have their chosen system already. Casual gamers want to pay around $200, so they're currently buying Wii's. When the other two come down closer the the $200 mark, they will sell more.
On graphics along, Stranglehold wins.
I can live with the enforcement of not selling M games to minors, as long as she's not trying to outright ban content in games. It would suck to be 17 though and have to ask mom and dad to give permission to get a game.
I guess that means that Microsoft isn't really "paying" people then. They're just returning the customers money, thereby making the console repairs a free service, which is the right thing to do. Microsoft will be better off in the end by being in the customers' good graces.
People that still think that every 360 is going to break are idiots. My 360 was bought 3 months after launch and it's still going strong. I keep it well ventilated and I don't move it while it's on, or while it has a CD in it. My 360 even runs at a fairly cool temperature. It's never hot to the touch, even when playing for a long period of time.
The new 360's have an added heatsink. They're not going to overheat unless you put it in extreme conditions. With a three year w...
@stunt213 - I believe they mean console exclusive. Bioshock is a 360 console exclusive. It's on the 360, but no other console. On the retail box, it says that it's only on xbox 360 and Games for Windows. Just to clear it up.
@SofaKingReetodded - Gears of War ran fine for me. Apparently it ran fine for almost everyone, otherwise it wouldn't have won so many Game of the Year awards.
I didn't play Halo or Halo 2 until after I got my Xbox 360 (I had GameCube last gen). I thought that they were both great, but they didn't leave an impression on me like I'm sure they would have if I had played them when they were new.
Nevertheless, I'm still hyped up for Halo 3. I am looking forward to seeing what the franchise can do on a next gen system. However, I believe that it is the four player co-op that will make this game memorable.
Of course, t...
That video is too sexy for my tastes.
You can't always go by reviews. My friend is totally addicted to this game. If the average score is around 7, then this game should be decent. How much satisfaction you get out of this game probably depends on your expectations. This game was once labeled an "Oblivion killer". I had high hopes for it. Maybe I'll just rent it to check it out, or see if they release a demo.
I'm sure you will.
@Slappy McTaint - I don't know what on Earth I'd do if Mass Effect isn't "all that". I'm not used to games being disappointments on the 360. I think I need some advice. So tell me, how are you going to handle Lair?
If it's good enough, people will buy it, even if it's competing with Halo 3 (which it wouldn't be if Haze was released in '08), and even if it's not right away. At this point in time, a game released on both consoles will usually sell more on the 360, because many more people have it. Look at Madden 08 sales for example. Bigger install base = more potential customers.
"The 360-to-PS3 Port Trend Will Reverse Fairly Quickly", said the guy who works for Sony.
Yeah, sure it will. Just keep telling yourself that.
I'll be buying Army of Two, and possibly Kane and Lynch. When there's a lull in games coming out, maybe I'll pick up Blacksite: Area 51.
Stella, don't blame this on the 360. First of all the article only speculated that they were having problems developing for the PS3, it didn't say for sure. But to try to turn it around and blame it on the 360 when many other games have been delayed for PS3 while remaining on schedule for the 360 is absurd.
You say that the 360 has been a nightmare for Rockstar. Is it Microsoft's fault that Rockstar had to borrow money? Don't think so. They're working with Microsoft so the...
