Anyone that thinks that Xbox is for shooters only should just look at the gaming lineup. It's not that hard. They have a very diverse portfolio. Shane Kim is right though, Sony does not have an answer for Halo 3 at this time. MGS4 will be awesome, but it won't sell as much. If this were last gen, I'd say that GTA would be the answer, but now it's for both. Not only that, but the 360 will sell more copies of GTA than PS3.
Reviews are opinions, and you know that old saying about opinions - they're like @$$holes, everyone has one. Some people will think Halo 3 is a masterpiece, probably myself included. Others will think it's mediocre, some terrible. Some will prefer Halo, others Bioshock.

You may be right. I just wrote that to see what kind've reaction it would generate. But yeah, I think percentage-wise, Square Enix games are more suited for the Sony audience. However, with the 360 install base so much larger (and growing) right now, I wouldn't be surprised if S.E. games on the 360 sold just as much or more.

I doubt it'll be more popular than MGS4 in Japan, but it's an encouraging sign for Microsoft nonetheless.

If I have to be a critic, the texture in the up close rock that Master Chief is standing on could be improved, but then again games are at not at the point where everything looks totally real yet. ...

It is way too early to call it for any company. The PS3 will probably have to hit a certain price point in order for it to sell well. MGS4 won't hurt either.

@ Lost Soul - Read what I wrote again nice and slowwwwwwly so you can comprehend it. It makes perfect sense. PS3 games coming out even two years from now won't graphically blow away what the 360 will be able to do. Yes, the 360 has less disc space, and may require more than one disc for games, but graphically, the two consoles will be on par with one another.

Xbox went the smart route and made HDD, HD-DVD, and WiFi up to the customer to add on, instead of forcing the customer to pay for them all, and making the 360 as expensive as PS3. As you can tell by sales and the collective gasp of the E3 audience when they announced the PS3's price, it was the wise thing to do.
