If Sony wins this console race, it will be the first company to have won three generations in a row. Not even the mighty Nintendo pulled that off.
This article is speculation. Even if PS3 wins, it won't have as much market share as the PS2. I say this because the PS3 is selling at too slow of a rate right now, and it has lost many exclusives. If I bought a PS2 for GTA and Resident Evil, and now I can play both of these on a cheaper console with more games and exclusive co...
Using the phrase "keeping up with" in the title is generous toward the PS3. "Outperforming" is more accurate.
The PS3 may be more impressive with processing in the long run (MAYBE), but I really don't ever see it blowing away the 360 graphically. But even if it does, does that mean all the games on the PS3 will be better? No.
The Xbox was more powerful than the PS2, but many people preferred the PS2's experience. If the neXtBox is more pow...
He pwned himself.
Well hopefully they were 5 VERY COOL minutes :-D
It is developed by Team Ninja, but published by Microsoft Game Studios, in much the same way that 360 exclusive Gears of War is developed by Epic, but published by Microsoft Game Studios. This is why you won't see GOW on another platform, even though Epic traditionally is a multiplatform company. Likewise, NG2 will be a 360 exclusive for the same reason.
I don't think there's anything that Microsoft can do to sell the 360 in Japan. It's just not their style of system.
The Japanese are blind to their own products when it comes to video games. Maybe if they could open their eyes all the way it wouldn't be that way. I kid, I kid.
I think that I have yet to see a thread that hasn't been degraded into a console war. Personally, I think all 3 consoles are awesome, but one stands out above the rest.
Damn right, Jazzmanb. Halo 3 will be the 360's crown jewel in terms of popularity, but behind that crown jewel is an unmatched gaming lineup that is the bread and butter. People can say what they want about the 360, but there are so many great games coming out, more than any other console.
Sony fanboys, I'll spare you the trouble - "Yeah, all those games would be great if you could play it on a console that actually works". Give me a break. Microsoft is doing righ...
Haven't you guys heard? It's uncool to actually sell software and produce hit after hit after hit. Best play it safe and go with a cool platform like the PS3 [rolls eyes].
More people play Halo than God of War and Twisted Metal combined, x2. Who cares what he says.
Why does every source have different numbers for the amount of consoles sold/shipped? Can't we have an official number? I would've thought that the 360 and PS3 both sold more than the numbers posted above. They seem low.
I wish Ryu would come to life and decapitate all of these idiots who whine about violent videogames. Violently.
I was a little upset that I didn't get to play Sigma, but now that I'll get to play the real sequel, everything's cool.
You read that right - INFERIOR, as in not as good. The PS3 has had the short end of the stick in the graphics department on many games. While it may not be due to technological shortcomings of the PS3, the fact is that games that have been released for both have had better graphics on the 360 for the most part.
So far I have yet to see evidence that the PS3 is graphically superior. Equivalent maybe, but not superior. So before you accuse people of having low I.Q.'s, make su...
"graphically superior PS3"...that's a laugh. At this point it's been graphically inferior on many games, but overall the two systems seem to be on par with each other when it comes to graphics.
Apparently your personal standards for games are like your I.Q...very low. I wouldn't know if I suck at turn-based fighting games, because I never play them. I'm sure I can find one or two that I may like, who knows. Of course, maybe not. As a general rule, I avoid them. On the few occasions that I have tried turn-based fighting games, it was usually just a demo, and only for a few minutes before I realized that it sucked.
Why? Because it joins a long list of mediocre Japanese RPG's. Those seem to be more popular with PlayStation fans. Us Xbox fans prefer "Americanized" games. And as everyone knows, we love our shooters, the more blood the better.
If I want to play an RPG, it needs to be like Oblivion. No stupid-ass turn based fighting.
It will survive until Microsoft decides it's not worth making games for anymore, same with the other two systems. Which one will have the longest shelf life? According to Sony, they're expecting the PS3 to stick around for a decade. The PS3 must pick up steam in order for it to do so.
Hopefully Microsoft will opt to keep the 360 alive for awhile even after the neXt Box comes out. It will have a big enough install base that it would make sense to do so.
I'm...
The PS3 will be fine in the long run. While I don't think it will be nearly as dominant as the mighty PS2, I think it will pick up steam in its later years, as the price drops. In the console race, I believe that the PS3 will be the long distance runner. The Wii is the sprinter, and the 360 is somewhere in between.
I for one am not a Sony fan, and while I hope Sony loses market share to the 360, I hope it remains competitive. More market share for the 360 = more exclusives ...
Microsoft denied any problem for awhile, but they finally did right by the customer. They have extended warranties, paid back repair fees, added heatsinks, and soon will have smaller, cooler, microchips. I guess it's true, you can never please everybody.
Why do people stick with Microsoft? It's the games, baby. They are unmatched by any other system. Also, if you read the web, people make it sound like every system is broken. Remember, people who are mad make A LOT MORE N...
