That stinks, but I'm relieved that that's all it was. It won't affect me at all since I never post there. I'm sure they'll have a patch in a few days.
@Gamespot equals EGM - I know plenty about business and advertising, don' worry. Apparently, your reading skills aren't good enough to grasp my point. I was just pointing out that there IS NOT A CONSPIRACY AGAINST SONY, and that 360 game scores aren't boosted because they prefer one company over another. In the case of Mass Effect for example, I believe GS even scored it a little low. You amaze me, I can't believe I even have to explain this.
Does anyone have proof that MS ...
Sony supports GameSpot? That's weird, because I thought there was a massive conspiracy with Microsoft to give 360 games higher ratings than Sony games, at least according to half the people on this website [rolls eyes].
You mean to tell me that the media says and writes things without doing proper research? Wow, who knew? I always thought that if it was in the paper or on TV, then it MUST be true.
More like this:
"I simply don't like anything they're selling."
-- That's how many people feel about the PS3. People that prefer western style games love the 360, and the 360 games you mentioned. Halo and Bioshock are two amazing shooters. Technically, Bioshock is half RPG. Mass Effect is amazing. Game of the year, IMO.
I have yet to see one article that says PS3 has the superior games lineup. Oh that's right, I forgot, Microsoft pays off everyone in the literar...
UT3 is a timed exclusive. You will be able to play it on 360, just not in the next few months.
Every time Sony is cast in a negative light, it has to be a huge conspiracy with everyone out to get Sony. Microsoft can't possibly have better games, right? Something MUST be wrong here. LOL, naive douches. A bunch of excuse makers. I looked at the list of PS3 exclusives and had to laugh.
But the thing is, Halo received high scores everywhere else. There are so many review sources, you can't pay them all off. Maybe Halo, Bioshock and Mass Effect are all amazing games that deserve 90% or higher. Just a thought.
I love how MS automatically gets accused of doing this. Maybe Sony paid off a few people too. Maybe Lair was really a 2.5 instead of a 5.
Sounds ridiculous, huh? Let's not go pointing fingers at all of the companies and publishers unti...
This is a true shame, as GameSpot was a respected website. As far as past games having their scores influenced by advertising revenue, someone would have to dig up their past advertising partners to know for sure, and even then that's not guaranteed.
Games are expensive these days! The least that these websites can do is give an honest score and opinion.
From now on when I want a review, I'm going straight to gamerankings.com, since they are a collection of revi...
They don't buy scores. If they did, Halo 3 would've scored perfect across the board. What about Vampire Rain? Did they buy that game's terrible scores? Did they pay GameSpot, a site that some PS3 fanboys say is "pro 360" to give Mass Effect a "low" 8.5? They didn't score that game high enough in my opinion.
People need to accept that fact that the 360 has had a bunch of great titles come out this year. Many exclusives were AAA titles that got high rank...
It is inevitable that as the PS3 lowers its price, it will sell more. The same goes with the other two, but let's face it, the price issue has affected the PS3 the most. Only hardcore gamers that have the cash and people that wanted the cheapest BluRay player on the market have previously gotten one.
Now that it's become more affordable, of course sales are skyrocketing. You think the next gen systems are selling well now? Wait until the prices drop even further. The ques...
"too much good ps3 news is bad for the media" -- Did Sony hurt the media's feelings or something?
As a previous poster said, no game is perfect. You can always find SOMETHING to nit pick about. Especially with today's games, there will always be a few glitches to.
No game will ever achieve perfection, but games should be able to achieve a 10. Also, reviews of anything whether it's a game, movie, album, etc., are just the opinion of one or a few. "Professional" (and I use the term extremely loosely) critics will give different scores to the same game depending ...
"Jack Thompson gets the boot"...hopefully right in the crotch.
This is going back a couple of decades, but I would like a next gen sequel to Maniac Mansion! It would be cool to have multiplayer on that game where you could trade items and work together to solve the puzzles.
If you paid attention to the words in my post, you'd see that I never said that Halo 3 was the best game. I did however say that as far as having a huge impact on society and pop culture goes, it wins hands down, which it does. It can't be argued. What other game this year was bigger as far as mainstream society goes, and as far as sales, merchandising, etc. goes? None.
We've already reached a point where the resolution can't get much better. We're only a gen or two away from games that look like you're playing a movie (at least I think we are). Eventually, when graphics can no longer be improved, video games will have to rely on a combo of innovative, addictive, fun gameplay and great storytelling.
When we look at movies, great special effects are fun to watch, and can make millions of dollars, but the movies that have great characters and ...
BS3, great comment, and so true. He's obviously not played Mass Effect yet or any other game this year.
You two sound like a bad Clint Eastwood movie. Time to update your cliche catchphrases.
