With the RROD issues, I can see why the 360's grade was dragged down to an A-, which is still a great grade. From a pure gaming standpoint though, the 360 deserves an A+++. I don't know if any console has ever released the high amount of top caliber titles in one calendar year that the 360 has. 2007 was just an unbelievable year to be gaming on the 360.
2008 looks to start of strong. With Ghostbusters and possibly GOW 2 coming at the end of the year, it may end that way ...
The 360 version looks a little brighter and sharper. Other than that they are virtually the same, except the 360 version runs smoothly during vehicle sequences, while the PS3 version is choppy.
The 360 version also gives achievements. It's the superior version.
If you look closely at the video, the 360 version is slightly sharper. Whether this will be true on two HDTV's is anyone's guess.
If the PS3 will ever show off its supposed true power that separates it from the 360, it will have to rely on its exclusives and not multiplatform games. I haven't seen any upcoming games that will do that, except for possibly Killzone 2. We'll have to wait and see.
The PS3 is definitely a well built machine.
If there is one good thing to come out of this situation, it's that MS has learned how to make sure that future versions of the 360 and any future consoles don't have this problem.
MS publishes Mass Effect. ME2 and 3 might find their way to the PS3 though, we'll have to wait and see. ME1 coming to the PS3 would be the equivalent of a Sony published 3rd party game like Drake's Fortune coming to the 360. It's not going to happen.
"Lets also keep in mind that as of today, the 360 has 3 "AAA" exclusives.
Halo3
Forza2
Mass Effect"
Don't forget Gears of War, 2007 Game of the Year Bioshock, and Call of Duty 2. Ninja Gaiden II is coming soon as well. I know that some of those are on PC, but as far as consoles go, they're 360 exclusives.
Sony has the most to gain that's for sure. I don't think Sony will dominate like the 360 did this year, even if it "wins" in 2008. I also don't think they will sell more software than Microsoft. They will close the gap though, I believe in terms of hardware sales. Sony's '08 lineup is much better than 2007's.
" It's amazing what money can buy
...Micro$$$$$$$$$$$oft."
Apparently, it buys better games.
Will this game continue the King Arthur/Avalon storyline of Tomb Raider: Legend? If so, I may get it because I need to find out what happens. I just hope they make this one longer and a little harder than the last one.
You should listen to 360sucks. He enjoys the PS3, so he knows a lot about crappy framerates.
If the PS3 were a sport, it would be soccer...popular everywhere but the U.S.
I'm not saying the PS3 isn't popular here, just dead last. However it looks like it's picking up steam in the rest of the world.
The attach rate and insane sales of 360 games prove that the hardcore fans, especially in the U.S. have chosen the 360. As long as companies see the 360 version of games outselling the other two, it will continue getting awesome titles.
The video game market is starting to get competitive among all 3...the way it should be. It's OK to root for a winner...go Microsoft, I say...BUT it would NOT be cool if one company dominated to the point that is caused one of the other two to call it quits. It would be very bad for us, the consumers.
Luckily right now, I don't think we'll have to worry about that. All 3 have found a niche among consumers. Believe me, this console race is far from over, and any of them can ...
It's your opinion. I thought it was a great game. Not the best of the year, but still great.

Shrimpboat, I never talked about extra content. You're right, they are basically the same game, but the 360 version has a better framerate and it has achievements too.
If you watch the video though, you'll see that except for the vehicle part, the framerate holds up OK on th...

The graphics are beautiful. I hope they get the gameplay right. As far as I'm concerned, they can take all the time in the world, as long as they get it right.
Slappy - I'm pretty sure 360 fans aren't missing or losing sleep over UT3 right now. We're busy playing so many great games that we haven't had time to notice. As far as I'm concerned, let Epic take their time and do it right, even if it takes a long time. I for one am looking more forward to Gears 2.
