So is this the reason for the still unannounced new PS4 IP's?
I wonder if this has anything to do with that Media Molecule game that was reported as being 'mind blowing'.
A VR Little Big Planet where you jump into the world you create?
Hopefully we'll see a load of info on these projects now the lid is officially off.
I'm not comfortable with it in the slightest. It's a cancer on the videogame industry.
You really ought to read more, everything you've said is wrong. It's actually 1080p (confirmed) with some amazing audio (fully directional dynamic surround tech).
It's already confirmed that you can wear glasses ,(and your own headphones if you like), and that it works well with 1 eyed users.
@Hazard
Strangely enough, I was just reading that Sony
stated that the headset was still great for one-eyed gamers in a separate article.
It obviously won't be exactly the same (no stereoscopic 3D), but you'll still have a greatly enhanced experience.
I personally would be very keen to hear of your experiences whilst using this or Occulus Rift if you get a chance, I think your review would be very interesting.
Yeah, and don't forget that this is only Sony copying the Virtual Boy, because we all know that Nintendo invent EVERYTHING first. /S
Not to mention it looks so much sexier than OR (not a factor in making a decision at all, but it is beautiful).
Kinect offers nothing/very little to a hardcore gaming experience, VR is something diametrically opposed to kinect.
Paying £1000 for a new pair of shoes is ridiculous, paying £2000 for a new car is a steal.
Really? I only ever heard people say that OUYA was pointless and a waste of time before it launched (I believe that was the general consensus), I don't know who you were talking with to hear otherwise.
@ShadowRunner
Most 15 year olds don't have a career or even a job. Yes you have more responsibilities as you get older, but you also tend to have a much higher income (or do you support your family on a paper-boys earnings and birthday money).
@Darthv72
You can use more than one VR set per PS4 for local multiplayer (Sony have confirmed), also unlike OR, there are plans for online multiplayer games.
Whilst playing, the image is also displayed on TV for anyone who doesn't have a headset to see what's happening.
I've heard that MS didn't begin work on VR until quite recently, there will either be a long wait (it's taken Sony 4 years to get to this point) or they'll buy up some other company's tech that's already near fruition.
I'm a little disappointed that they are using screen displays at all after seeing a VR headset on the gadget show that beams the image directly into your eyes and costs only £299.00.
I hope they can pull it off at a similar price point.
@PSVita
Morpheus is the Greek god of dreams, anyone with any kind of education would realise that the character in the movie was named after the god.
Believe it or not, most people in the world when hearing the name 'Morpheus' think of the god first and foremost (although I very much doubt that's the case on N4G).
I'd just like to point out here that 'Morpheus' refers to the god of dreams not the character in the Matrix (who was also named after the god).
The Matrix would have been a great film if it wasn't ruined by Pinocciano Reeves (the most wooden actor in Hollywood).
The author is terrible, really clueless. He's the one who said the XB1 reveal beat the PS4 one just as the internet went into meltdown over TV,TV, TV, Sports, TV, Sports TV.
He also says that Kinect has yet to prove itself as a "necessary purchase" alongside the Xbox One.
It's not the same people, learn to think before you write. Also those that are saying "the franchise will be coming to PS4" aren't saying they want it or its amazing, just that it's coming to PS4. No hypocrisy in that at all, its really simple if you think about it.
@webeblazing
Are you really that simple? Some PS4 fans were upset when it was bought out by Microsoft, others didn't care at all. We don't all have secret meetings to decide what to think or feel about the game.
Sony fans are a wide and numerous cross section of the gaming community, each with their own take on each and every game released.
If you can show me one single example of a user on this site who berated TF previously and now...
Sounds like a great idea for a VR game to me, potentially lots of fun.
@Flames76
LOL, bubble up for funny.
WAIT! Were you being serious?
Now that's just tragic.
