It's not going too far at all, if Nintendo didn't want to be the butt of industry jokes, they should have put their short arms in their long pockets and invested in a competitive product rather than relying on their reputation to sell a cheaply made piece of crap.

I'm not sure how seriously they've been working on it though. Surely if they had put serious R&D cash into the project, they wouldn't have had to buy out that tech company. That smacks a bit of playing a quick 'catch up' to me.
I just hope the experience is as compelling as Elite was in its day. That game is still the benchmark in space exploration games by a country mile.

I'm really looking forward to this game. The only other Alien game that had that tight, claustrophobic experience of the movie was the 3DO game (Alien Trilogy). It probably wasn't that great a game but at the time it was the first and only FPS Alien title and was scary as hell to play.
I was hoping that future games would concentrate even more on the atmosphere and sense of foreboding but unfortunately all the others have been generic twitch shooters where the Alien...
I love Indies, in a way it's like going back to C64/Amiga times when small companies made fantastic, varied, original games that would never be made by the big studios nowadays. For me, that was the 'golden age' of gaming and I welcome it's spiritual return.

It's actually should have *GOT* or should have *BROUGHT* in English (Gotten is a purely American word). Hire and Rental have the same meaning.

I do agree with what you say, however it would have done wonders for Oculus, Facebook and the whole kickstarter concept if they'd given a little 'golden thank you' to the 'little people' who's faith and contributions created the company in the first place.
It wouldn't need to be much, just a little gift to show appreciation (maybe free future VR software, or a heavily subsidised/free upgrade to the final retail version of the hardware).

Nintendo also have no business outside of the gaming industry, they won't be leaving any time soon.
Sony won't leave the industry because they need it more than ever to help keep the company afloat.
Microsoft have the least reason to be in the space, they don't need the cash and to them it would not be a big deal to drop out and concentrate on their main (and far more lucrative) business of making and selling software.

Not every game is that big a hit and nobody knows how a game will sell before it gets commissioned.
If you are going to spend $100,000,000 on a game, you want to reach as many potential customers as possible. If the extra numbers provided by console gamers weren't there (up to 160 million potential PS/360's and 10,000,000 PS4/XB1's), If those numbers weren't there, how many developers would think twice or reduce their budge...

Some families are messed up, dysfunctional and abusive. Some parents rape and kill their children, those families should NOT come first.
Many people get offended when you say "he'll be in OUR prayers". To a non-religious person that is offensive, like somebody saying "we will throw a sacrifice into the womb of the volcano god for you".
I wish him and his family all the best and hope some kind of cure/treatment can be found. If there was anything I could do to ease his families suffering I would, but I won't be having a one-way conversation with an imaginary sky wizard to make myself feel bet...
No consoles, no AAA titles for PC. There just isn't a big enough target market. You should be grateful that you get included at all.
That's just a case of being excited for the possibilities of a new tech, then being disappointed when you try to work with it and it doesn't deliver what you want.
It's perfectly normal to do that, kind of like when you tell a friend how great a new game is going to be before it's released then being disappointed when it turns out naff.
