It is understandable really given the bad press about the game. Besides, if it is possible for 12 year olds to get hold of Halo3 and pollute Xbox live, then it is possible for them to get hold of manhunt 2 and attract a whole bunch of parents complaints when they actually see the game. I bought that the other day and also got creature feature as well. The wife thought they were really cool, and to be honest it was quite funny waving your arms about and watching the fish follow. We have a couple of dogs and one of them jumped up to see the fish and scared them away! Laughed for hours (well, minutes anyway :o) ) Creature Feature is also a lot of fun, even better than the wii to be honest and I can see that being a cool party game, along with rub a dub and the locoroco game us...

Blu Ray is just a media format, and with the disk I am able to play it on any compatible device (so I can play a blu ray movie on my PSP if I connect to my PS3, lend it to my friends, sell it on ebay, rent it from blockbusters, etc etc.

I think it is expected to get mixed reviews for this kind of game. It is not the usual type of game which appeals to the majority of gamers.
Folklore could be put in the same genre as Blue Dragon for example, which also had mixed reviews.
As for poor reviews for PS3 exclusives generally, then I can't really say, as the exclusives I've played have been really good, and comparable to the best 360 games I've played. Resistance is better than Halo 3, Gears of War is ...
I don't hate Microsoft at all, but I think there needs to be a bit of a reality check for those people who spout all the nonsense about Sony being evil. Using the 360 as a media extender can be a pain if you use certain codecs. The 360 only supports a small number of codecs, and this meant I had the choice of converting all of my media to Microsoft friendly formats or use something like tvercity.
I have been playing this for the past few nights on and off and it plays as good as it looks.

I agree that it is a hard sell to the average consumer, but the Blu Ray will eventually replace DVD as DVD replaced VHS, as digital TV is replacing Analogue TV, as digital cameras are replacing film. There are always new technologies replacing existing technologies.
The move from VHS to DVD was easier in that you could use the same TV and sound system (if indeed you had a sound system) and still benefit from the technology, due to the poor quality of its predecessor

I think that selling HD DVD players for that low a price is just a gamble as really Toshiba have nothing to lose. They could see that Blu Ray was starting to dominate and already had to appease Paramount/Dreamworks with cash. They have all the stock and need to shift it, as the players are starting to look old and take forever to boot a disk up.
