I think in reality this is going to be a compressed version of the movie on the disk which can be downloaded to your PSP. Kind of nice to be able to easily do what we already use windows and ripping software for at the moment, although this is a compressed version of a Blu ray movie, so it should be better quality.

The wii games are £10-£15 less than the 360/PS3. No wonder he can say they sold a billion dollars more (about a third more revenue for units which cost a third more. Go figure!).

The PS3 can stream DivX/Xvid files via Nero or TVersity. It is Windows Media Player which is the problem, not the PS3, as has been reported by Gizmodo.
I don't have any files which are larger than 2GB. Even the HDTV versions of Prison Break, Heroes etc. are only 700+ MB. I don't see how that excludes most users at all.

Small retailers don't get to speak to Microsoft, or Sony, or anyone else really. They simply buy the games from the distributors, who favour the larger accounts such as the supermarkets and the smaller retailer always gets the raw end of the deal.

You can play Blu Ray exclusives on it in 1080p, not inferior 720p, and listen to them with uncompressed audio, not compressed 5.1, so you don't need to pay money to rent a time limited DRM restricted download and can rent a Blu Ray movie instead from many places, and play that Blu Ray disk on any Blu Ray device.

The 360 does not have wifi. In the UK we pay $120 for the wifi adapter. Even the Wii has Wifi FFS! I am amazed the MS is still not making any money consistently with the Xbox 360. When you add up what it costs for a complete system, it is far more expensive than the competition, and now they cut services for so called 'freeloaders' LOL.

I reckon it is a move to try and persuade those people who don't bother renewing their Gold membership to renew. With the advent of the PS3 and people who own both consoles it is possible that the rate of renew rates are down and they need a way of persuading people to join, but with a laggy service, trash talking 12 year olds playing mature rated games, and charging for stuff like gamer pics and themes which should be free, it will be very hard for them to persuade me to do so.
You, and I, are early adopters, and we will not be interested in keeping a console for more than 1-2 years whilst its successor is out, and for us backwards compatability is more important than price as we want to replace the older console yet still purchase some of those games, like GOW2 and the like.

It is only for DivX version 5 guys, so I am not sure just how much of a difference it makes, as the video you want to watch will need to be re encoded if it has been encoded for a previous version.

Surely you purchase the console for a whole bunch of reasons, and not only because of a resolution figure. I am happy if the resolution is 480p or above as that is higher definition than the previous generation. As long as the game looks good, plays smoothly, and offers something interesting over and above the previous incarnation then I am a buyer.

Ninja gaiden is the best game on the Xbox in my opinion. I really enjoyed Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black and also got the Ninja Gaiden Sigma on PS3.
It is a must buy for me, probably the only must buy so far (except Halo3 which is a must buy if you want to see what happens after the other 2)
