You are making a whole bunch of assumptions here. Firstly, each and every time a new console is launched the third party and first party games will have less of an audience to sell to. This was the same with PS1, PS2, XBox, Gamecube, Dreamcast, 360, Wii, and PS3. The benefit for third party publishers is that they can publish a game on the old established platform and the newer platform simultaneously, such as Fifa 08 for example being published on PS2 and PS3.

Did anyone else notice that he played it on easy as he didn't like the difficulty curve on normal? This review, as seems more and more common, was done to a deadline and rushed through on easy. Is it no wonder the reviewers seem unimpressed and that the scores are met with cries of foulplay from the gamers who have experienced the game as it should be experienced. No wonder it is short if you ignore all the exploration and just blast your way through the game on an easy level.

Yep, my wife was jumping around in front of the screen waving her arms about laughing like crazy.
Great fun game, and for something like £4, it is a no-brainer.
I've never really had any disappointments regarding the actual games. If you buy smart and know what you like then there shouldn't be a problem.
The only game where I thought WTF, that was rubbish, was the ending for Halo 2.
I am playing Assasins Creed at the moment on PS3 and quite like it, although I would have preferred not to have the modern day, time travelling matrix flavoured, storyline. I've only killed two of the nine targets though so that might change,...
Hey, he's right.
The 360 was really hard to find for the first 4 months. The difference is that the PS3 was IMPOSSIBLE to find in Europe for the first 4 months, because it wasn't even released!
Seriously, who cares anyway, frigging sales figure nonsense
You are kidding about Halo right?
Your AI co-op player is rubbish, your AI troops are even worse, and the enemy are rubbish too.
Same attack patterns, same side stepping left then right, I don't think you can use Halo 3 as an example of good AI. Fear I like definitely, and also Metal Gear Solid 2 was good in terms of the difficulty of hiding from alert guards.
Uncharted hasn't been released here yet but the AI on the demo was fine. The enemies co...
Sorry, I wasn't blaming anyone, just having a discussion.
If you are going to use charts and published reports as a premise for whatever conclusions you might want to make regarding game sales, console sales, the price of fish etc. then you should expect people to look at those charts and published reports with a critical eye and debate some of the points you make. Thats all I did.
Never mind, have a nice weekend.
It will be interesting to see whether the mods on the PS3 version are that popular, because I must admit, I like UT but never really bothered with them, and it will be interesting to see how flexible MS will be with Epic in implementing them.
But yes, its always worth the wait if a. the game is improved and is the best it can be and b. if you have something to play in the meanwhile, which 360 owners do.
Ah, so you can't combine different versions of the same game, unless of course, it is Halo 3's standard, collectors, and Legendary edition.
So spin is fine just so long as it suits you then :o) Cool, now we know where we stand.
However...
I can't believe that you think I am spinning anything. The chart is there, and can be read by anyone. Just because NPD has decided to record some SKU's seperately, and combine others, it does not mean that GHIII ...
I think it is a good decision, as the Halo 3, Call of Duty, Orange Box games will be satisfying most of the target market for UTIII, not to mention Mass Effect.
The main delay seems to have been because of the user generated content Epic want to implement and Microsoft's unwillingness to do so.
They have a better chance of selling more if they wait until Easter or something when 360 owners will be wanting a new FPS to play.
How have you worked this out? What about the PS2, and the fact that it sold more copies of GHIII than any other console during October, and in fact, GHIII on the PS2 was the TOP selling game in October, if you look at the NPD Chart properly.
According to VGChartz (yeah, I know) there are 16.86 million Next Gen consoles in the US. 360 has 50%, Wii has 36% and the PS3 has the remaining 14%. If the PS3 is responsible for 16% of software sales then that is near enough what we would...
I own 3 of the games you mention, and I think they are all great. Its too early to say whether a game will be successful of not if you are only judging their first couple of weeks sales.
It is not just PS3 titles you should look at, what about PGR4 on the 360? Such an important franchise and hardly any excitement for the game. I played the demo and it is better than I thought it would be, even better than Forza 2 in many cases.
You can never explain why some gem...
No one mentioned the PS3 except you mate, and I am not mentioning it here, as it is irrelevant to my point. If you think MS can sell another 6.5 million 360's before end of December then cool. That would then match the 10 million consoles they sold in 2006.
Surely the term 'momentum' means to continue to move at the same or faster rate, in this case, meaning sales.
Sony have just released a press release following the NPD figures for OCtober. In that press release they firmly state that they sold 100k PS3's in the first week of November.

The article is bullshit, sorry.
I have noticed preorders for Uncharted in the UK are only £32.99 from Amazon, Play, Gameplay etc. which is a decent discount from the £49 full RRP
I think it will sell really well
Hmm, all I see is that Halo 3 accounted for probably 80% of that revenue, and was supported by Microsoft marketing money in unprecedented amounts. You think MS will send free Mass Effect themed 360's to all the reviewers? Didn't think so.
The 360 has sold less consoles this year than it did last year. That is not momentum, and MS need to increase sales, but they can't because they are still losing money. They are in a pickle at the moment, and lets hope that the RROD problems a...
By the end of 2007 I will have 10 Blu Ray movies, 9 Blu Ray (PS3) games.
Not a bad attachment rate for a system only 9 months old (in the UK). I'll also have 12 360 games though & 400 DVD movies, so world domination is out this year I think :o)
I would have liked a survival mode type thing where you could simply fight for as long as you liked.
Also an arena type practice area would be cool, so you could get the hang of all the different combos.
Given how many sales the latest Dynasty Wars achieved for the PS3 in Japan, I bet the next Air Combat will be on the PS3. In fact, its probably already been started.
I would rather keep both consoles in the race to be honest, it would not be good news for gamers if MS gave up, but the Playstation Brand is going to be as tough, if not tougher, to crack than the ipod brand in the mp3 industry. Microsoft need quality first party studios working for them and bringing out 4 - 6 bloc...
Well, I just managed to snag one from HMV, so my Christmas will now have a healthy dose of Mario Galaxy and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (providing that gets released in the UK of course).
So, owning a PS3, Wii, 360, am I now platform neutral? Nah, the PS3 still makes the others look like toys :o)
