Well, LucasArts was barely getting by. EA was behind the SWTOR budget and 1313 was a pipe dream. The existence of which was most likely being used to generate buzz for the upcoming sale to Disney at the time, but that's just my opinion.

As for Disney, well they like their quick cash-ins, we'll see if actually push for real quality. They certainly can't be any worse that the pre-Disney LucasArts.

@ZombieGamerMan

What "you" decide to do is not the context of the game. The context is whatever the developers intended it to be.

Unless of course, you are saying GTA has no point beyond just killing people on the street. Seems people don't hold a very high opinion of GTA5 if its being shoved in the same boat as this game.

There wasn't a Win 9. They jumped from 8.1 to 10. Forget the reason but I remember it making some sense.

So you prefer telecom companies be in total control? Answerable to nothing but their bottomline? You really think that is the better option?

Sure they won't magically censor your speech, but they will censor those who don't pay. And that gets passed on to you. It will also ensure one of the free market tenants, which is to eliminate the possibility of competition. Why compete when you can have the entire market to yourself?

That is actually being done...

They live in a fantasy world where huge corporations are somehow above reproach and always act in the best interest of the consumer. They don't, which is why the few service providers that are left are so hated for their customer service.

In realityville this will give service providers a way to strong-arm services like Netflix. And seeing how there is ZERO competition and almost no real choice for the consumer, we just get to take it.

But yeah, these com...

4k gaming. Or really anything above 1080. There's also physics support as well.

No.

If I can't fix/upgrade it on my own its not worth anything to me. I know my PC can last many years. Tablets have a shelf life. If they break there is no quick fix. I can fix my PC same-day if a part needs to be replaced. I don't need a stupid warranty either.

I would have gone with cinematic animations that are horrible. High time BioWare update them.

Technically this is a step up for Australia. The government wasn't involved with this decision, it was a private company whose market is not gamers. Games aren't making big profits for these stores in general. That goes double for the re-release of GTAV. So they decided to appeal to their market (whom would almost certainly find GTA offensive) by not stocking GTA.

They have nothing to lose, gamers aren't their market. Also it is their choice what to stock.

What's wrong with you people? The ones that whine incessantly at every opinion that you believe threatens knock you off your pedestal?

Then you have the audacity to talk about pushing divisive politics while literally pushing your own.

Hypocritical babies.

By all means whine on, lol.

Yea, because gamers never complain about anything. I never see dev forums with gamers inserting their 2 cents. They don't overreact to stupid things like hair styles, they know its not their place to criticize art.

Feedback is dangerous for art. Thankfully gamers know this and are content to remain silent and let the creators provide the entertainment gamers crave free of useless feedback.

This game is going to suck so bad. Gamers are such easy, stupid consumers.

When you have to sell controversy to make up for the lack of actual skill...

A game where you kill people, Wow, what unique idea./s

Sucker born every minute, most are gamers, lol.

Limited freedom?

So what about Valve's "freedom"? Do they just, not count?

Buying games on Steam is not a "right".

4053d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

No, it is not censorship. Censorship is either legally forcing alterations or banning its sale completely.

If Valve suddenly decides they want to only sell Care Bears games on Steam, they are well within their right to do so.

In all fairness, Wolfenstein's file size was due to the streaming textures. RAGE was pretty large too.

Though you do have a point, Wolfenstein was like a 44gb install. Great game, sure, but there have been games with more "stuff" at half the file size, so that's not really a great indicator of a good game. Could just be a large pile of crap for all we know.

For a movement so concerned with "proper games journalism" it sure produces a ton of conspiracy laden, crap articles.

Businesses get to decide what they want to sell. VERY different from making them illegal. GTAV wasn't banned a couple stores that make little to no revenue on video game sales, decided to not sell a game. Along the way they decided to generate a little internet buzz and viola...

Seriously, this would not have happened if games made up a large portion of their revenue. Its a PR stunt, that's all. Generate buzz among your consumer base (not gamers) and start trimming the products that don't make money (games).

I mean, Toys R Us doesn't sell dildos and Nordstrom's doesn't sell toys, stop pretending the this is a "rights" issue, its not. Just a business doing business.

And I can't believe that all of a sudden people are freaking out over a game getting banned in Australia.

Its one outlet too, not the entire country. Its not like the government is banning the game.

A private company has the right to sell what it wants to sell. Its one of the realities of the business side of games. You can't force people to sell your game or buy it.

Besides its not like Target and Kmart are expecting massive sales o...
