Morpheus has a couple disadvantages too. First of all price, which has to be at the right point for the console enthusiast. $400 is going to be too high, but they don't seem to want to take a loss on it.

Secondly, when it comes to games, there are going to be serious standards in place. They have to hit a very specific performance mark, which is at the very edge of what the PS4 can do right now.

The Rift needs no performance standards as the hardware is s...

I think the "shoot first and ask questions later" mentality of cops, is also a plague on our society.

IMO the police hardly have the moral high ground when it comes to what contributes to violence in our society.

But this is CNN, hardly an outlet to take seriously. They didn't even know what they were talking about.

@NewMonday

And you have evidence that this is one of those reviewers?

Please provide it if you do.

Wouldn't really call it "hardcore", "niche" is more like it.

You really have to turn a blind eye to the very rough edges to enjoy these games.

So what exactly is the difference in achievement?

Because I see no difference at all. But, aside from your own personal belief on what constitutes an achievement for others, what difference does it make if its called a sport or not?

Definition is close enough so who cares? Don't call them "athletes" if you don't want to.

I just don't get the rigid opinions about this. Like calling certain games a sport is going to ruin...

Wait a second, how recently were these concepts seen?

Shortly after EP.2 released, there was something like 2 or 3 concepts released. Then nothing for a few years. Then there was a bunch concepts leaked, that were confirmed by Valve, but that weren't being used anymore, or something.

So I'm wondering when these were actually seen and if they are the concepts that were leaked a few years back. Because the way he described them mirrored my initial react...

With the gloves, they should also have an "all-in-one" controller that can be made into a gun or a wheel or anything else. Something that can provide the feel and also be adaptable.

Realistically, low to medium settings with the 460. Probably medium to high with the 760, maybe higher.

Really depends on the kind of CPU bottleneck there will be.

Its not the "version", as in platform, its whether or not it was the beta they were basing that review on.

Legit reviews are ones where the source material can be verified and that material is in fact representative of the final game. Basically, just prove you have the game, pretty simple. Sites shouldn't be allowed to just make up reviews for hits, that's worse than an embargo.

That was the case is Far Cry 2, but not 3. In FC3, taking over enemy camps stopped the patrols in that area.

4274d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Except it wasn't the score that was the problem.

The problem was that there was no way to tell what version they were playing.

I disregard reviews when there's a serious doubt about whats being reviewed. I didn't even think the score was bad at all, though the review itself didn't actually explain the score.

@logikil

Well, if you are going to charge to skip all the grinding you have to make sure a grind is there to begin with.

In the end, all that grinding is meaningless if someone can just buy the car outright. Seeing you race that car doesn't automatically say "you put in the effort to get it". Instead, that symbol of your hard work is tarnished since it says "you probably paid for it", at first glance. You are reduced to having to defen...

I'm liking the small section on the store front devoted to "recently updated" titles.

I agree with the article, those are all the primary reasons I use Steam exclusively.

I wonder how they are going to solve the demo issue. To me, that is one of the biggest hurdles, beyond the engineering side of things.

4275d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Don't know about most gamers, but I prefer reviews from a reviewer that:

A. Knows how to review an actual game.

B. Has at least some credentials.

C. Oh, and can prove without a doubt they actually have the game.

That review was unprofessional at best and at worst just trolling.

4275d ago 6 agree1 disagreeView comment

Did it stop you from buying the game?

VGA's and GOTY are a joke sponsored by Mt. Dew.

4275d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

GOTY is ridiculous. Its hard to take games "journalism" that seriously to begin with, as this article shows.

If it sells, it sells. Its really not going to matter if a bunch of web sites say its their favorite game.

You 'might' make a case that it matters for a brand new IP but not an established one like Far Cry.

They've done a pretty good job so far, just sayin.

4276d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Pretty sure LucasArts had very little to do with SWTOR beyond the franchise itself. In fact, part way through its development they ceased all involvement due to lack of money.

The future of Star Wars is entirely up to Disney at this point. Where they decide to go with it will determine it. Prequels are likely done at this point, mostly. Sounds like it will be post ROTJ, which is good IMO.

For all their faults, EA knows how to milk a franchise, unlike LucasAr...

This is the problem with this review. The way its described doesn't sound like something that would be intended. It may be, but in the best case this is a retail copy that was leaked very early and without Ubi's knowledge. Nobody outside the beta should be playing online so there is no way to tell what is going on.

This could be a glitch, a server side setting that won't be changed until release, or an intended feature that lacks the proper context. Its impossible...
