Building a "platform" doesn't necessarily mean building some walled off eco-system. It sounds like a digital store front.

A digital store front makes the most sense. You don't just thumb your nose at Steam unless you're EA, which has an actual consumer base.

Could they wall off the Rift? Sure, but again they have only one market to go to and a sizable chunk of that market uses Steam. Don't forget, those developers also need to sell t...

I-Novae Studios.

For anyone interested in the similar tech, look them up. They were one of the first to do this at realistic size and scale with a seamless transition from space to a planetary surface.

Bit early to get excited about mods. I haven't seen an announcement that it will actually be release for PC in the first place. Their website says TBA.

Everyone assumes a PC release but I prefer hard facts.

@Mr Tretton

Kind of disagree. Its not an outrageous thing to consider, but I really think it comes down to marketing and the perception gamers have of "needing" to upgrade.

Even last gen you had that group of gamers getting the absolute latest and greatest despite the fact 90% of games didn't need that to play.

As to why devs don't do it? More work I guess or they know a someone will make a mod anyway and don't bother. ...

Sound to me like OVR are busy developing the Rift instead of throwing a party.

Sony also isn't treating their device like their console. They are taking things slow, because one wrong move could spell disaster.

I'm not sure how the lack of "presence" at E3 should matter at all. Maybe when the CV1 is actually released, but right now? "Here's another prototype that is not the final version!" "Yay!", really? I prefer OVR...

If they need to expand their market to pay down that $500 million dollar budget or increase the profits, then yea.

If its crazy successful probably not.

Since they announced this game all they have done is string the PC community along. PC gamers are back up in case this game doesn't sell as fast as they expect.

If they were really that interested in the platform, we wouldn't be discussing this.

Maybe a handful of people would have made a stink but an entire legion of gamers would have lost their minds in rage.

Whenever these topics are brought up I'm not sure who's worse the person bringing it up or the horde that reacts the same way every time.

Frankly, both sides do equal amounts of bitching and moaning.

Its not like it even matters anyway, so 5 people on the internet have an opinion, won't change anything.

Without an actual transcription or audio its very hard to discern whether she was confirming that or just saying "yes" for an entirely different reason. Also she didn't explicitly say "Yes, he is Gay", what she said was "Yes, we are not releasing that information at this time." Which was apparently all the confirmation the author needed. Didn't need any follow up, just "confirmed".

That, was absolutely the worst kind of reportin...

The catch is being the go to product for VR around the world. A name alone can be worth billions.

I'm 50/50 when it comes to cockpit view in this game. (though it still is a planned feature) Reason is, you really have to pay close attention to where you are going and I think the cockpit view might just get in the way for the most part.

It will change when VR starts selling. Sony has been fairly clear they aren't running into this at full speed. Rightly so too, they have other priorities beyond VR, unlike Oculus whose only priority is VR.

Credit where its due, Sony has been far smarter in introducing their VR solution than I thought they would be.

My only questions are:

1. Will Sony be able to act and support their device when/if VR starts taking off?

Or they just had an opinion an decided to act on it. It could have even been a mechanics issue, considering how they are used. I don't know and I don't care.

Not sure what the difference is between kneeling to PETA or people like you. You want them to have the freedom to express themselves, so long as it doesn't go against your values.

A balanced approach would saying people have opinions that you don't agree with. Developers are free to ackn...

Seriously, what they are doing is nothing "new". One guy, with some outside help created the i-Novea engine years ago.

Point is, they aren't really doing anything ground breaking so there's no reason to worry about them being overly ambitious.

I'm not belittling their efforts and have high hopes for these guys, but its about damn time people started to take notice of this tech.

While I'm not having any major issues with it, it is disappointing they haven't released something by now.

Fix it how? He's a Witcher, that's what they do.

Witcher "signs" aren't meant to be OP, they are pretty simple and often scoffed at by the Sorcerers/Sorceresses in the lore. Their spells are OP, destroying armies and leveling cities.

If your issue is with the mechanics, well take a number and get in line. I don't have an issue with them, but many others do, we all have opinions. By the looks of it, its sticking pretty close to TW2 co...

To be perfectly fair the Witcher games have had their fair share of issues, not game breaking or anything, but the games are always supported after launch.

No one should expect perfection from the start especially with a game as ambitious as this. Folks new to the series just need to know that CDPR will support the game after launch.

CDPR is committed to their game and they've proven that from the start.
