I really think the game suffers more from poor writing than from racism. That "may" be a an element to it, but really, the poor character development and disjointed narrative are the real problems.
Yes, they could have given Iraq a much bigger role, he was an interesting character. But this happened with most characters. The writing for Clara was a travesty, at least Iraq had a purpose.
I really think Watch Dogs has potential as a franchise, but not...
Yea, underneath the SW skin is the most basic of MMO's. Don't even get me started on the space portion of the game.
You actually saw "an ending" instead of 2 min of random footage that made no sense, was full of holes, and came with 16 laughably minor variations. Entire galaxy is at stake, but my war assets determined if Big Ben got destroyed or not.
So of course you are going to say its not as bad as people say it is.
I expected a lot more than just "pick a color" from Bioware.
That art did exactly what it was meant to, provoke a reaction. It did, and was successful.
Looking for anything deeper or relating it to the actual game will have to wait until there is more information available.
Ciri looks a bit older than she should be. I don't mean the white hair, just her face. Maybe the hair is messing with my perception. Though, since Sorceresses don't "age" that might have something to do with it also, since Yennefer looks younger.
Or I am just seeing things:P
Haven't finished the books yet so maybe I've missed some things. Still working on Times of Contempt.
Valve was serious about VR, but after looking into the Rift, decided to take on a supporting role rather than make their own device. Its VERY expensive to develop hardware, especially a risky device like an HMD.
There's nothing to worry about. Valve is structured differently than most companies.
They will probably have something like ubersampling again which will kill performance but really didn't make a massive difference in quality.
No, its just one of many parts to the game. Full title has a couple years still to go.
I actually think the third-person perspective will work far better than people think.
Its a solid 8 overall, though I can see an argument made for a 7.
My biggest issue with it is the story, which is a bit of a mess. Not "bad", but poorly executed. The game is still good, but the story was a missed opportunity. So that could easily bring down the score IMO.
Its a good game, that's worth the purchase, but almost certainly it was helped by a well timed release window.
On the one hand, my gut reaction to this game is to remove it from Steam quickly.
However, on the other hand I don't think Valve should just be removing games that are garbage.
Yes, there should be some basic standards. It should have to work and it should be advertised truthfully, but beyond that its really up to the buyer. (Also shouldn't infringe on copyrights.)
There's a difference between a bad game and one that is broken or ...
They should patch the story. /s
Seriously, that was like the worst part of WD.
Let's just say that I found myself saying "Wait, but you just said..." a lot.
A $1000 dollars for a gpu and ram?! GTFO.
1. Ram isn't a priority upgrade, but its also dirt cheap.
2. By staying one generation behind you can save lots of money and get the most proven cards of the bunch. Got a GTX 660 for $150 <----- Way less than $1000.
Not being able to max WD won't hurt PC gaming.
What's really funny is how useless it is to make video games a scapegoat for guns.
I mean if the slaughter of a bunch of 5 and 6 year old's can't even close simple loop holes, there is no chance of any sort of gun control. In fact since then gun rights have expanded.
I wouldn't worry about video games either, since that requires doing something, which is not something our government is capable of right now.
Still waiting on that mass exodus from OVR you kept going on about.
Haven't actually seen it yet. Saw a lot of people from id and Valve go over there. I've seen ZERO developers abandon it, aside from Notch.
So... just trolling? Not informed?
@spartanlemur
Well we agree on one thing, I wish there were more actual debate on the subject rather than just lashing out.
The problem I see is that whenever one of these articles pops up, there is an extreme dismissal of it as "click-bait". There is almost no debate on the subject at all.
My point is this, if you want "gaming" to be taken seriously you better be ready for the serious issues. You can't want more than...
I disagree because critical views are important. I would rather they exist, than not.
I don't believe moral issues should be "hands off". As writing has become more and more important in games, so has the morality that is intertwined with it.
I could easily say that if someone holds a view you don't agree with you could just ignore it and only comment on views you agree with.
Art needs to be challenged or it stagnates. So ...
Don't even try. Really.
No one will listen.
Just look at the comments of any article talking about this, or any other social issue, and you will see. Not only is this a non-issue here, its practically a crime to bring it up.
Not really sure why this is, but save yourself the trouble.
Car might have hit a junction box or hit something that in turn hit a junction box.
I tripped over some pressurized tanks and got blown up. Things are a little fragile sometimes.
They likely used sex as a way to accentuate the idea of invading one's privacy.
Yea, at times they did it for laughs but I think overall, they really wanted you to feel guilty for "peeking".
