If this is indeed concrete - Good. I don't care for any First-Person Shooter to be honest. It isn't my genre. Hate em with a passion. But even so - that's not the reason I'm happy it will no longer be coming to Wii U.
I'm happy because it was a terrible game. Sure, many want third-party support on the Wii U, but if the games suck, why bother? This is one of those examples.
I forgot about this game, lol. This is one of the best looking games on the original Wii, actually. Almost looks like that of HD quality. Yet I've never seen it stores in the U.S. Maybe I'll pick it up if I see it. =P
Well this is interesting.
A non-hate Wii U article. In fact, an article saying that the Wii U hate is being overdone - and what's the result - crickets. Had this been saying something like "Rumors of Wii U's Demise are Totally True" - this would be one of the hottest articles on the entire WIi U page.
I'm gonna be honest - Unless the console has been cut off (like Dreamcast for example) it's no "failure". I don't see why people are so quick to jump on the "Console XYZ is a Failure!" bandwagon and they have so many ignorant people falling straight after them.
And even when the console starts to pick up and show true signs of life, then you see: "Console XYZ is such an amazing console!" - from most of the very same people who were ju...
@SilentNegotiator
~ And would you believe that the Wii U has actually sold better than than the PS3 or 360 in the same time period (3 months) even with it's terrible game drought?
- Check the facts for yourself good sir, BEFORE, you comment.
And now the Wii U is outselling it's former competitors! And this is with it's FIRST big-quality releases for the year. Imagine later this year where even more get released. Take for instance:
- Wind Waker HD
- Bayonetta 2
- Pikmin 3
- The Wonderful 101
- And any other big title that hasn't been announced yet
Pretty sweet sales. Vita seems to be gaining some ground to, also very nice.
And yet another pathetic doom-and-gloom article.
Honestly, do these things have no end? Why do they even keep getting approved? I mean, seriously.
I have yet to see PS4 be graced with such a torrent of bad articles, and if it were, I could only imagine how much Sony fanboys would crawl out the woodwork, and would be virtually ready to assassinate ANYONE who speaks badly of their all-powerful baby. (That was a joke people)
Anyway - The Wii U ...
Yeah, uh-huh. Because for the last 3 generations ~ It's been the most powerful console that has taken the top spot.
No, sir . . .
Just ask the PS1 (winner of the 5th-gen), PS2 (winner of the 6th-gen and second best selling game console ever), DS (winner of the 7th-gen handheld division and best selling game console ever) and the Wii (winner of the 7th-gen home console division and third best selling game console ever.
Because N4G is Sony fan-boy haven. That and - it seems like there is manufactured hate towards Nintendo. Everything they do is criticized, time and time again. Even though they usually prove the nay-sayers wrong anyway - so I'm not worrying.
Either way ~ You do speak the truth. If it's ANYONE who's the most likely to *fail* it's Sony. They're finances are incredibly rocky, and can collapse at anytime. If the PS4 sells anything like the PS3 (at a loss) - th...
NoF knows what they're talking about.
Doesn't matter how MUCH the system costs - what matters if there are games that make it attractive nonetheless. Although pricey, the Wii U is still at a very good price, either way. If people are complaining about the price now, imagine how they'll be when the 720 and PS4 come out. Heh . . . those systems will have a price point of AT LEAST $400-$450 dollars. Add that to the price of games, which will be about $60 - and that...
Yes.
I - Really - Don't - Care - About - It's - Specs.
SPECS ~ have NEVER defined a console of being "last-gen", "current-gen" or "next-gen", so that excuse holds no water. And even if it did - the Wii U would still be "next-gen". The fact that it's able to handle way more than the 360/PS3, proves that. Look at "Need for Speed Most Wanted: U" - that game uses the PC textures, something that couldn&...
Dying? No, more like - Hasn't woken up yet. It's in hibernation mode - like EVERY console when it's first released. History is one Wii U's side here ~ All consoles start off slow, and as time passes, they start to pick-up steam.
The Wii U is missing a lot of new releases, because it's a brand-new system that was launched smack in the middle of the brightest days of the 360 and PS3. Devs were making projects on the latter two for years, so they're only ...
I wish it was only that.
Add to the fact that Nintendo went ahead and made an HD console, with online capabilities that are practically as good as PSN and XBOX Live - and people STILL complain that the Wii U is "underpowered" and "only as good as current-gen consoles."
~ The gaming community is one of the most hypocritical online communities I've ever seen....
Um . . . No. Just no, good sir.
- Slightly Mad has CHOSEN to take this route. That isn't to say that this is all the Wii U can do at this point. If Criterion can successfully port over the PC version of Need for Speed Most Wanted, with enhanced textures, improved lighting, and draw distance - on a PORT - then I'm sure they can really use the tech in a game built from the ground up.
Even so, they did say that this was the set-up for ALL the consoles ...
I like it how people are ignoring the fact that this is only Slightly Mad Studios who's having their games running on Wii U at 720p-60FPS. Not the entire game dev community. The Wii U most likely is capable of much more, but I don't see a problem with this game's specefications. It is a pretty power-hungry game, either way.
And guess what? I. Couldn't. Care. Less.
I'm a GAMER, regardless of the fact I'm playing on Wii U. If gaming is your hobby, you're a gamer. Whether you're playing Solitare on a PC, Wii Sports on a Wii, Halo on a 360, Killzone on a PS3, or Nintendo Land on a Wii U - it truly doesn't matter WHAT you play, or what you play it ON. They're still GAME CONSOLES and GAMING PCs.
I only own a Wii & a Wii U now, until the PS4 and 720 release, and...
Good grief - Is this what gaming has come to? Might as well call it "Graphaming", seeing that most "gamers" simply care about what they're looking at.
Don't get me wrong - I love a game with beautiful graphics. But now, that just seems to be the only thing that matters with gamers. Graphics and specs. If the game itself isn't fun - then it's a failure in my eyes, pretty or not.
I'm going to quote a piece of an article, from MyWiiU.com.au, which was posted on February 28th. It states:
"The Wii U has been copping a ridiculous amount of flak for its (often-labelled) "disappointing" and "mediocre" sales - but are they really that poor? Upon last check, the Wii U had sold just over 3 million units - nothing astonishing, but decent figures nonetheless.
Let's compare sales to that of the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 200...
If the Wii U doesn't have any quality software at the moment, along with a high price and very little marketing - Of course it'll be overlooked. People are going for the consoles that have the most influx of games, and are cheaply priced. This economy is rolling in it, you know.
Once the Wii U get some good software moving (which starts later this month) sales will increase. The amount of sales we're seeing this week, compared to the amount of sales by the end of ...
Well - Can't say I'm dissapointed. I hate the First-Person Shooter genre - But that isn't completely the reason why I'm happy.
It's a terrible game, end of. I, like many others, want third-party games on the Wii U, no doubt about it. BUT - that isn't to say people want ANY third-party games on the Wii U. Shovelware is shovelware. Doesn't belong anywhere. If the game is garbage, whether it counts as "third-party support" or not - keep it a...
