N'gai is one of the most respected gaming journalists, period. I'm pretty sure he has an Xbox 360.
Does anybody else remember that she was a model on Judgement Day - she'd stand and point at things when they reviewed hardware. She also did location interviews on Electric Playground. I never got the impression that she knew what she was talking about any more than Julie Stofer, I just wonder how she went from that to he position at Ubi. Seems like they were going for a more marketing centered producer rather than someone from a dev background. I guess Tommy Tallarico has the hook-ups!
I do think that Konami will want to port it over to the 360, but I wonder how they would do it. With Kojima saying the 50 Gig BRD isn't enough space etc - wouldn't they have to modify the game to a point where it wouldn't measure up to the PS3 version?
I'm sure lots of stores sold out - around here the places that sell them usually have 1-3 on hand, wouldn't take too much to move that many.
Regardless of what you might think Insomniac and Naughty Dog are 3rd party developers. Just because they only develop for Sony consoles doesn't mean they are somehow financially supported by Sony. Certainly Sony does comarketing with them, but that's just good business. Yes, Sony publishes their games, but that doesn't mean that they own the studios (1st party) or fund their development (2nd party). In a recent interview Ted Price even said they could develop for other systems if they wanted ...

@1 - If I can play GH3 with Rockband controllers I'll buy it for sure.
If you look at it as a percentage of install base - which is a far more logical than a raw number - then the PS3 would be ahead. It's just silly to look at it this way - like saying Honda sells more Accords in the US than in Japan.
It's just either an old picture or a dev kit controller. Those have always had red glowing PS buttons. How can someone not know that by now?

It'll get there eventually. If you're one of those people who won't buy it till then that's cool - it's just like all the people buying the PS2 - great library of games ($20 a pop for a lot of them) etc. etc.
When they say "Our goal has been to have Xbox profitable in the coming fiscal year 2008," do they mean overall or just 2008? If they've lost $5 billion by the end of 2007 does that mean they expect the Xbox division to gross $5,000,001?

I think the "right thing", ultimately, would have been to not ship a product of such low build quality. I imagine they weren't aware of the issues that have arisen, but they certainly knew what they'd built and what they'd built it out of. The warranty extension is fine, but I don't think they deserve a cookie - they are just covering their own butts. It's better than not doing it - I just don't think we should praise them for it especially given how long it took them to admit there...
Don't you think people might be even more PO'd when their 360 bricks during a marathon Halo 3 session? I know I would be. I've been lucky so far - no RRoD, but it's nice to know I'm back under warranty... sort of. I'd really rather it just not break :)

I like that Sony is leveraging the actual web with the PS3. Now they just need to sort out the browswer - or maybe i just need to get a keyboard. Probably both.
I don't think it's the "best" way. I think it's the easiest way. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad my warranty is extended, but I'd rather I just wasn't worried about my 360 being one of the many afflicted with RRoD.
I think people are getting the wrong idea about "recall". He's just saying that they need to identify specifically which 360s have the issues and offer to replace them - not "every 360 must be sent back!". Like any electronics recall consum...
