Awesome!
Japanese don't want American electronics. Heck, I don't want American electronics. Why don't they want Xbox? We may as well ask why Japan doesn't import much seafood from the US.
Kevins Rose and Periera showed it on AOTS 3 or 4 years ago.
Sweet.
Sam is so emo now. He looks like Chris Gaines with a beard.
Historically Microsoft hasn't been as good as Sony at reducing hardware costs thus facilitating price cuts. They are is a unique position here in that Sony and Nintendo are very unlikely to cut prices anytime this year, so they may be able to get away with keeping them as they are a while longer while they try to reduce the cost per unit. That being said, if I had to guess, I'd say Microsoft will cut the price of each 360 model by $50 in the Fall.
While it's true that a digital signal will degrade over distance the way that it's put forth by Monster is disingenuous. If you had a really low quality cable and a ridiculously long run you could certainly have some issues. But if you have a decent cable and a reasonable size run - say 5-10 feet from your PS3 to your TV - there is NO WAY you'll see an improvement with monster cables. Don't buy the crappiest cable you can find - it'll just fall apart, but don't buy the most expensive either. ...
Nintendo is trying to shed the kiddie image that they've developed so that they can be more mass-market like the PS and PS2 - games for everyone. Will it work or will it blow up in there face? Only time will tell.
It may not be a "NEW" issue, but it is certainly an ongoing one, and one that Microsoft doesn't seem to be doing much if anything about. I believe Peter Moore said something about it not being "one problem" - which to me sounds like "our hardware is just of low quality overall".
My 360 hasn't broken and I count myself lucky. I suspect it has something to do with the limited amount of time I have to spend playing it.
That they said the game is being developed by Insomniac in the second sentence.
Xbox Surface!!
if i'm not mistaken it's doing better than the PS2 was doing at this point.
People are so eager to declare "victory" or "defeat" one way or another they forget that we have another 5 years or so to go.
"remember that these next games are first generation IP's which history has shown us NEVER move systems."
Right - Like HALO!!
;)
I can believe that Epic was mighty cheezed about not being able to make the new map pack free and that were the game on PS3 they could have. I don't think it's very likely the Gears 2 will make its way to the PS3, but if Epic isn't happy with Microsoft it wouldn't be that hard for them to focus more on the PS3 with the Unreal engine already being developed for that platform.
I couldn't agree more. The Wii is riding high on the hype wave, but that can only last so long.
This interface seems to take for granted that people won't mind staring at a horizontal surface for extended periods of time.
Can you say neck pain?
I haven't been into PC gaming in years - I like sitting on my couch, I like controllers over keyboard and mouse and I like the value that console gaming offers (generally, purchasing every major console costs less than one decent gaming rig - I know console prices are rising, but still...)
So, I've never played Half-Life. The heavily modified PS2 version didn't appeal to me. I've wanted to play HL2 since it came out so I'm super psyched about the Orange Box and I think it would...
was quoted as saying that sound is at least 50% of the game experience and I couldn't agree more. One of my favorite things about the new "gen" of consoles is real 5.1 audio. My speakers and I have been waiting for this for years!
to hear Sess say that. X-play has been HARSH on the PS3 since launch - aside from Resistance that is.
I still think $60 is a lot to pay for a doorstop or paperweight or whatever you'll use that for next year.
