I think this really shows Namco's lack of vision. PS fanatics are the ones who made Katamari a cult hit and now they're not going to release on PS? Does your average PS fan really like Katamari enough to buy a 360 or a Wii? They are clearly trying to expand the audience (or should I say, the bottom line), but they're doing it by cutting off their fan-base at the knees? I probably would have gotten this game on PSN, but I won't get for Live - I just won't bother at all now.
I do...
"charity" is a weird way to describe the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. Google around - they're doing some messed up stuff in Africa.
Hopefully Activision and EA will get with the synergy and make sure controllers are compatible etc. I'm definitely getting Rockband with all the controllers - I want GH3 as well, but if I have to buy more controllers... I'll have to think about it (I already spent a lot on GH and GH2!). I also hope that the mic works for Singstar and the like as well as I'll be more likely to get into that if I don't have to buy more hardware. Please devs, don't miss this opportunity to sell me more games ! :...
@freemonnk - you are correct. Activision now owns GH, but Harmonix still owns the engine.
I'm guessing that the 360 controller isn't ready for prime time yet, but it's cool that they are showing that you can use it (like they said you could) if you already have GH2 for the 360.
There's no legal issue here - Neversoft is having to completely rewrite the GH engine for GH3. In a way Rockband is the real next version of Guitar Hero - to me anyway - Red Octane had a ...
"Remember, Apple was copying the same price poinit strategy that in one product generation singularly relinquished dominance of the home console market."
This statement is beyond ridiculous. Since when did "console generation" mean 9 months out from launch. Additionally to say "copying the same price poinit strategy" is also misleading since there's no evidence that it's not just a coincidence.
Apple has certainly spent a lot of ti...
Yes - because research and development, manufacturing and shipping are free. All you have to do is buy the right parts and viola, iPhone. :)
All my WoW fanatic friends from work are hotly anticipating this one. I'm really interested to see how it turns out. I definitely like the idea of real-time combat in this genre.
you're one to talk about leet-speak :)
I don't think either controller is perfect, but I much prefer the PS3's. I for one am glad, and impressed, that the basic design has remained unchanged through three console generations.
I haven't played either of those yet, so it's kinda hard to say.
"Sony Goes Down" is a much more interesting headline than "Sony Continues to Succeed" which is no headline at all. Sure they aren't perfect, no one is, but the press and the internets have just been stomping on them for months and months. I think there are easily an equal number of legitimate gripes with regard to the Wii and Xbox 360, but they just aren't as interesting because Sony has been so dominant for the past decade. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the PS3...
It seems we just can't get enough!
Developers are always going to try to make them as close as possible on 360 and PS3 - any differences we might see are only an indication of their failure to do so, not a reflection on the hardware.
I'm a huge GH fan, but I'm having a hard time with this one. Again, like GH2, it seems like they are propping up the track list with a handful of awesome ones and filling out with way too many meh tracks. I guess they can only spend so much (or are only willing to) on licenses. Guess I'll have to play it and see :)
Can't wait!
I agree. I like how they dose it out in smaller increments so that they are easy to install etc. This probably cuts down on potential bugs and such. It's great to see how aggressively they are improving the firmware.
I wish they'd get them on playstation.com for download simultaneously. Downloading to my computer and putting on my thumb drive is much faster.
Taju Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!! Dattebayo!!
She's terrible! I'm surprised she got 52 :)
I've thought about this a lot. Can they get away with continuing to charge for services that competitors don't? The only answer I can come up with is yes. A lot of folks aren't going to buy more than one console and if they already have a 360 and like to play online what other choice do they have? Are Xbox users going to cripple their gaming experience over a few dollars a month?
Another thing is that if MS does drop or remove the price it's tant-amount to admitting they've bee...
