Yeah I really don't want a dozen pieces of plastic that I have to put my controller in. I just want to pick it up and start playing.
Nobody should miss out on the first 3 R&C games - they are all fantastic. You can skip Ratchet: Deadlocked though - just not the others!
Man - Ebert is really going down hill now that he's passed into irrelevance. Two Thumbs Up used to mean something, but that was a long time ago now. He's the definition of bitterness now.
Crackdown was fun, but not really much of a complete game - they had to extend gameplay with a ton of collectibles - which was, admittedly, fun. I found it unsatisfying overall - like a really good tech demo or early build.
I'm sure the game will be good, but I will be disappointed with R* if they, shall we say, "dumb down" the game or rather "size down" the game for 360.
I agree - GTA would be the absolute worst game to try and put on 2 discs - you cross a bridge: please insert disc 2 - not cool. If they did that you know how hard the Sony fans, maybe Sony themselves, would mock GTA on the 360?
Better graphics - the best we've seen so far is like a good last gen game.
Some built in storage - enough for save games at least.
Gamertags.
Totally. There about about a dozen games coming out and I'll probably only have time for two.
lol @ secrete button. I think you mean secret? Secrete button sounds gross! I don't want my controller to secrete anything - maybe hand sanitizer for after my sweaty friends play - ha!
Good interview.
A lot of times they only have like 5 minutes at an event of some kind (E3 or something).
I still hope to see a "next-gen" sly. And I think that we will.
Not every game needs to be "gritty" or have "edge". I feel like so many devs chase after that look and feel and too seldom pull it off effectively. Games like Ratchet and Sly are a breath of fresh air amongst the noise of "mature" titles. Only in gaming does "mature" mean you get to beat up hookers. ;)
I just wonder how long is too long. One would hope that they would get better - find a way to be profitable. But the longer their games division is around the more money they are losing. At this rate will the 360 ever be profitable? If not they're looking at a decade of losses on the division (Zune certainly hasn't helped either). I think that MS has, and will have, the cash to stay in the business for probably as long as they like, but if they keep posting these sorts of losses how long will...
I think the XBL users stat is inflated by the free trial month you get when you buy a new 360 - it's pretty standard actually, satellite radio gives service away with a lot of cars for a trial and they count them, I'm pretty sure Apple counts free download of the weeks as songs "sold" (sold for $0).
Just putting that out there.
I don't think they are doing multiplayer and to be honest I'm glad. I felt that multi-player detracted from Up Your Arsenal and even more so from Deadlocked.
Same here. No more fighting over controllers in Calling All Cars.
Yeah they could use a little TLC - maybe if they were just concave. I don't know what would be best only that they could be more comfortable - the only part of the controller that I can say that about.
Symmetrical is better if you ask me. Our brains are wired to easily perform symmetrical movements, or to reference position symmetrically with each of our hands. Shooters are OK asymmetrical because the reference for each stick doesn't need to be equal - they can both be relative to different things. But try playing Tiger Woods Golf or the like with the 360 controller - it just doesn't work as well.
I don't get how you can put Sonic in a foot race with Mario etc. without putting weights on his ankles or something.
Guitar Hero Encore: etc. is not an expansion pack. Expansion pack indicates that you must already have additional software to play it, it isn't standalone - which isn't true of this game, or any other PS2 game I can think of.
