I don't know man - to me that sounds like "Apple's going to retire the iPod". The Playstation brand carries an enormous amount of weight. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Sony's computer entertainment division has been their most profitable in the last decade - since the advent of Playsation.
Ken Kutaragi was a visionary that changed console gaming forever. His legacy lives in the PS3 and in it's ultimate success or failure. Personally I have always p...
OK - when they say 10 year life cycle they DON'T mean 10 years till PS4. They mean that they'll be in production for 10 years. Remember the Playstation? They built them for 10 years. PS2 is on track for the same. As the costs come down and the price comes down these "older" systems take on new life in markets other than Japan, Europe, and North America.
New hardware is always going to be affected by competition. I would think that Sony would like to bring PS4 in say 2...
Sure. I'm just saying it's weird that a Canadian Retailer is supposedly releasing pricing info in USD when they don't use them in Canada. Why not Pounds Sterling? Yen?
Just makes it seem less credible.
Sometimes I feel like this game gets extra attention because of the Jade factor. It really turned some heads a year ago at E3, but it seems like the longer it takes to come out the less impressive it seems when compared to the competition. Here's hoping it turns out to be awesome in the end.
Just wait for the reviews when the game is actually finished. I don't think anyone could really give you any helpful info at this point. I would speculate that they'll be pretty much the same and that you should just pick which controller you'd rather use :)
TGS is really soon <crosses fingers>
For me the thing about "don't judge the demo" is this - if you don't want us to judge it, don't demo it. I think if you choose to put it out like that you're asking for it. i work in design and I've learned the hard way that if you show something in early stages of development to too many people they don't see the vision, they only see the flaws. That's just the way it works. Game journalists are often privy to those kinds of early builds so they know how to take it with a grain or ...
If they do stop selling the 60 they need to drop the price of the 80 when they're gone.
Just because every one hasn't broken doesn't negate the design flaw. For the record: mine hasn't broken.
We all know about the overheating, board-flexing, GPU and or CPU solder joint problem. Basically this means that it's possible that under certain conditions (favorable ones) some Xbox 360s will not break, but under other conditions (unfavorable - heat) all 360s will likely break.
I was going to say the same thing. How do you think a 15 year old gets to the store?? Someone over the age of 15, you know, with a driver's license takes them. Where are all these transportationless teenagers with pockets full of Benjamin's going to come from?
You honestly think that, "many games will have no choice but to run in non-HD resolutions"? I can't see any SD game EVER being released on the PS3. That's crazy.
Canadian $ != US $ (a Canadian dollar doesn't equal a US dollar)
Bear in mind that he's with SCEE not SCEA so who knows if he know what he's talking about. I personally think they should have stuck with the 60 as the only SKU and dropped the price a bit - or dropped the price and changed to the 80 gig which probably doesn't cost them more than the 60.
Lame! They didn't fix KOTOR or Halo 2 - that shadow glitch is so annoying! No Psychonauts fix either - I guess these are just new games? They aren't bothering to fix the one's already on the list that have bad glitches?
I'm so getting this game!
Why would he say that?? He might as well say "We don't care about our consumers". It doesn't seem like the are increasing production at all - which is weird with install base being so important - something that they stressed at the press conference. They should be telling people they are sorry they can't make them fast enough not bragging about it - that's like bragging about how bad your supply chain is. Yes the Wii demand is higher, but it's also far easier to manufacture - I just...
MHO = Sony>Nintendo>Microsoft
OK. I LOVE Ratchet & Clank - always have. They have always been great looking games, and ToD is way beyond anything we've seen from the series before. But, looking at those screens, it's just not up to the visual quality of The Incredibles or Ratatouille. It's easily one of the best looking games ever, but consoles just aren't there yet - and probably never will be, as console technology improves so will computer animation technology. They say there's a threshold somewhere, but I still th...
Man I totally appreciate your enthusiasm - I think the PS3 is a killer piece of hardware, and I think there are some really good games and a couple killer ones. But I can understand why people would want to wait for this holiday season when a whole mess of awesome PS3 exclusives come out. Me, I just couldn't resist Resistance (Insomniac FTW!) so it was launch for me. I think the PS3 can speak for itself, there's no need to proselytize people - they know it's great, they just wanna play Ratche...
I think someone missed E3 this year... the author.
