Headset's going to be a better way to go. I don't even know if Warhawk will play the other players through the speakers, but the EyeToy mic isn't really for that sort of game - trying to pick up your voice across the room with explosions blaring through your speakers would be bad news. Go for the headset!

I actually think that Sony priced the PS3 so high because they didn't want to poach PS2 sales for 18-24 months. I think the 360 forced them to release the PS3 a bit earlier than they wanted, say about a year, and they didn't want the PS2 gravy train to end in the larger markets. By pricing the PS3 higher they have the least expensive, "low end" console and the most expensive "high end" console. As the PS2 tapers off in the larger markets (NA, JPN, EU) the PS3 will come dow...
Moving that many units with the software library that's available is very impressive. Certainly speaks to the potential of the console when a lot more (good) games come out and Blu-Ray (likely) becomes the standard for HD movies.

I just can't choose between Ratchet (among others) and Mass Effect (among others) - gotta have both! The only console I've been able to resist so far is the Wii and that's only because I can wait to play Zelda, but I'm sure I'll get one before too long.
Downgrade was probably a poor choice of words. What I mean is that Sony is the best there has ever been in the gaming industry at reducing hardware costs - based on that I don't think it will take them very long to get the 80 gig down to $399. This is assuming that they are trying to move to one SKU only, which I tend to think is for the best. I don't, personally, have any problem with them offering PS3 a la carte - I just don't think it would be the best thing for all the main-streamers out...

I have a 360, but I'm getting this for PS3. I'm sure the standalone game will have more than enough content for me to get my money's worth.
I think $399 will be the sweet spot for the PS3, but I don't think they need to downgrade the hardware to get there.

I had some issues with my account not working for a while after the update. It's fine now - i think they must have been updating some servers or something. Good luck!
I just did the update and now I can't sign in to the Store? Anybody else? It asks me to log in when i try, but it always fails - if I try to retrieve my password it says there was an unexpected error and nothing happens - i have to cancel out of it... Help!

Interesting that 2 of the top ten titles are PS2 yet apparently, according to this article, not a single PS2 has been sold in the US in the last 7 months! Hey Games Radar - the PS2 is selling far too well to be omitted from this sort of list. Didn't the software sales clue you in?
I see where you're coming from, but I'm glad they recognized the multi-player had more potential and decided to focus on that. I'd rather have that than a mediocre single player with a good multi-player - we've seen that formula before and no one ever seems to bother with the single player so why should the dev waste the time on it?
Maybe if it does really well they'll revisit the idea of the single player, but with all the reviews of the beta it seems like they made the right ...
