I tend to think that this sort of letter is more about protecting themselves. 2K is bound to find out about it and could probably successfully sue IGN over it. I think IGN is just trying to make it clear that they neither allowed nor condone the actions of the D2D users.
If I was him I'd be pissed too.
The demo went into anamorphic for me during cut scenes - I thought it was intentional. Maybe it is.
I haven't gotten to play Warhawk yet so I'll reserve judgement.
But I did get a gift subscription to PSM last year and I can tell you that it's the worst magazine I've ever subscribed to. The new editor - his first letter from the editor was all about how lame the PS3 is - seriously, can't you muster some enthusiasm now that you work for PSM? A big indication of their suckatude is that they have been hemorrhaging staff over the past year - it's almost as though PSM staff would ...
It's hard to believe anyone's complaining about a 9/10 review. I always thought that was a really good score!
I agree about the gunplay not being super tight, but I think it's intentional. I think it's meant to be more realistic - you aren't playing a soldier here, not an expert with weapons - so the way it feels is in way more natural and in keeping with the story.
I'm not bothered by the Vita-Chambers - I hate getting frustrated having to do sections over and o...
You know that Microsoft is part of the group that supposedly put up this money right?
No. You are completely wrong.

Both formats are pretty well standardized by now. The likely hood of the triple-layer HD-DVD ever being really used is basically nil - it's not compatible with existing hardware, heads up for you 360 + HD-DVD own...
I guess no one told Microsoft that you can't dig your way out of a hole.
The Xbox division has been operating at a loss of about $1 billion a year for 6 years. So let's be generous and say that by the time we hit profitability they're only $7 billions in the red. Then how long will it take them to get in the black?
This premise of this article is beyond flawed. It assumes that all studios are of equal size and therefore value. The studios owned by Disney and Sony - which are all supporting BRD exclusively - are bigger content owners than all the others combined. How can they not take that into account?!? Lunacy.
Just another example of greed ruling the industry. The only logical reason for them to do this is that they can make more money by accepting what is essentially a bribe than think they would make on selling BRD movies. Or maybe they're just hedging their bets - one thing's for sure though, it must be better for their bottom line, at least on paper.
Universal is making the same play and I'm sure it's to their financial advantage as well.
The consumer is the bigges...
This is totally off topic, but whether a Tomato is actually a fruit or vegetable isn't really debatable - it's a fruit. Just don't tell the grocery stores - they'll be embarrassed for putting it in the wrong place all these years.
Interestingly this is rather similar to the "Is the Wii next-gen" issue. It all comes down to marketing.
It's next-gen in letter but not in spirit. Next-gen, taken literally, can mean simply that it came after the Gamecube. But next-gen has become synonymous with technological advance which is something I don't think the Wii can claim.
I couldn't agree more. Nintendo's only games of significant note continue to be theie 1st party mainstays - Mario (and the millions of Mario spin-offs), Zelda, and Metroid - maybe even SSB.
Innovation and gimmicks aren't the same thing.
Could be really cool - hope it is.
I think if you're going to make this kind of list you'd be better off waiting until the year is over. Judging mostly by screenshots and trailers just doesn't make much sense.
Also, you should learn how to compose a sentence. ;)
Yeah - that bugged me about Gears as well. The used streaming textures, poorly if you ask me.
I think N'Gai is right about Microsoft withholding information in expectation of a class action lawsuit. Anything they say will just serve as more ammunition for lawyers.
If you haven't played Resistance you really ought to give it a shot. It's the most fun I'd had with a shooter in a long time and not to be missed by any serious gamer. It may be a pretty straight-forward shooter, it's not intended to be the sort of genre-bending sort of game like Bioshock, but it's an incredibly solid one that's just a blast to play. Seriously don't be so quick to judge it if you haven't at least played through a few levels.
I think it will come to the PS3 in 6-12 months time if at all. I don't see why it wouldn't. If they are working on it I'm sure they are under contract not to breathe a word for at least 3 months after it comes out on 360 and PC.
Whether it does or doesn't come to PS3 I don't think I can wait much past Tuesday so it's 360 version for me. The immersion in this game is incredible - it's surprisingly engrossing and disturbing at the same time.
Yeah - it's definitely a real issue. I hope the fix it in a hurry, but it's not going to stop me playing it when I get home from work.
