What is Uncharted doing on there? Honestly most of this list is games i INTEND to miss this year.
Looking forward to trying this one. PSP game looks fun, but I haven't had a chance to play it - I kinda hope they rerelease that one for PS3 download as well.
I don't think anybody had it at retail today. Did anyone else get the emall from Sony about it. Announces the launch on PSN and that the strategy guide is in stores now. It shows the retail package - box, game, headset - but makes no other mention of it. I thought it was funny to get that while my friend was calling every game store in town and finding out no one had it yet.
Hopefully tomorrow.
This makes it retail version for me once again. Being able to take the disc to a friends along with the headset makes it a no-brainer for me. Also resale value if I get tired of it - which may never happen, but still.
Anyone know what's up with the retail version? None of the local stores even really know when they're going to get it - they think probably Thursday. I had thought it was coming out today, but maybe it was just shipping today?

Pretty sure you can. Unlike XBL your PSN tag and your PS Store log in aren't tied to your hardware. They allow five downloads regardless of where you download to. So if you have 5 PS3s you can get some crazy LAN action going. Or, you know, split a copy with a friend - though Sony probably doesn't approve of the latter.
EDIT - yeah it looks like it's locked to your PSN ID. So my answer is yes, you can probably still download it five times, but you won't be able to get the afore...

Wow, that's really cool. I wonder if they're going to try to sell us tracks and cars and such like the used to talk about.
He makes a fair point, but I think that technological advancements allow for gameplay advancements. Look at the animation system in Uncharted - great example of technology allowing for greater immersion in gameplay.
I wouldn't mind if systems cost less, and I think he's right that business wise it would be easier get get a solid install base going, but I still want my game systems to be as powerful as possible.
They're are, wisely, keeping the story under wraps. We know that something happens that give your character what are essentially "force powers" - perhaps that's the Mass Effect - I don't think we know for sure. Bioware is all about story so expect that to be one of the big draws in the game. I tend to like story-driven games best so I'm looking forward to this one.
I think a lot of folks underestimate brand loyalty. When I was a Walmart for the PS3 launch there was this like 10 or 11 year old kid waiting all day with those of us who managed to get a spot. Anway - he was so Playstation loyal just because he loved his PS2. He was all "don't want a Wii, don't want a 360 - only PS3". He didn't even know what games were out at launch or if there was even one he wanted. He just new he had to have a PS3. His mom didn't know anything either - only tha...

Looks amazing. I haven't enjoyed the last 2 GT games as much as 1 and 2 - maybe this one will bring me back.
Can't say for sure, but some - myself included - think that it's possible that the additional rendering required for true widescreen would cause framerate issues.
That was a pretty easy song - and it looks like they are playing on hard and not on expert. Not saying they aren't good - just that it's not super impressive.
