The PS3 already had PS2 backwards compatibility but it doesn't anymore with the newer models.

Plus, there's over 140 million PS2's sold out there and if they want to play PS2 games, they can just use their PS2's.... literally everyone that will want a PS3 sometime down the road already has a PS2.

Sony will most likely come out with a slimmer PS3 model sometime down the road because they did it with the PS1 and PS2, but a Slim PS3 isn't needed for the PS3's success.

It's not avaliable for pre-order right now on Playasia but it should be pretty soon. If you don't want to use Playasia I guess the only other option would be Ebay.

No I don't think the PS3 needs a price cut because it's already been selling strong against the 360 this entire year in the U.S. and Worldwide with the higher price point.

If PS3 sales were not increasing compared to last year then yes, a price drop would be needed but not now because the sales have been doing well.

The Xbox 360 was the console that actually needed a price cut because the sales had started to slack off despite having the $279 price point and a larger...

We all know how Sony has dropped the PS3's price, but the PS3 debuted at a higher price than the 360 did.

The reason why I still think the price drop was more of a move of desperation is because even at the $279 price point (just $30 bucks more expensive than the Wii) the Xbox 360 wasn't able to outsell the PS3 in the U.S. so far this year. I mean come on people, you would think that the 360 would outsell the PS3 at the $279 price point, but even that still ...

Since Bioshock is coming out in October, I wont be purchasing it until maybe December or early next year because there's a lot of other games I want this Fall/Holiday... I already pre-ordered the Fallout 3 Collector Edition and I'm getting LBP in October too, and thats $140 dollars right there just on 2 games, plus I want Dead Space and Far Cry 2 in October too and Bioshock will just have to wait.

Anyways, the gameplay looks O.k. I didn't know it was a game where you had powers.....

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm used to pressing either Square or X for Jumping... I definantly hope it's possible to customize the button layout.

Meh, there's nothing good coming out in September I'm looking forward too... bring on Ocobter because I want to get my hands on Fallout 3, Dead Space, LBP, and Far Cry 2 just in Oct. alone.

I wonder how many of those people that got RROD's bought new 360's. The Xbox 360's total hardware sold worldwide is definantly masked by 360 buyers buying multiple 360's.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why 360 sales had hit a wall this year in the U.S. before price drops is because of the failure rate and the fact that more people...

I saw the commercial during the Football game on Thursday during the Giants game.... I really didn't see the point of the commercial because not one thing of Vista was even mentioned and at the end of the commercial there was just a picture of the Windows Vista logo, but it should have had the words "VISTA" as well as the logo at the end and maybe more people would have gotten the message.

Most of the stuff on that list I already knew... but that Wifi trick was pretty nice

There is JUST ONE PS3 SKU avaliable at Amazon.com and it's the 80GB PS3 for $399. The 80GB PS3 MGS4 bundles have been discontinued but are avaliable at "some" select stores and the 40GB PS3's have been discontinued too.

The 80GB PS3 for $399 is at #6 in the top 10 in Video Games on Amazon.com and the 60GB 360 is at #24,the Xbox 360 Arcade for $199 is at #27 and the Elite is at #47. PS3 still selling more on Amazon.

I can't recall ever seeing a Xbox 360 in the Top 10 but ever since the 80GB PS3 MGS4 bundles, the PS3 has almost always been in the Top 10 and has pretty much stayed there.

GTA4 was only a 8/10 - 8.5/10 for me... but it's definantly not a 10/10

O.k. Jaffe, enough talk, time to get back to Twisted Metal for PS3 or whatever you are working on at Eat, Sleep, Play for the PS3.

Of course Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 can co-exist... by delaying Killzone 2 to Feb. 2009, Sony gave Resistance 2 a little time to "cool off" and then it will be all Killzone 2 come February and it will give the PS3 post-holiday momentuem.

Personally I'm looking forward to Killzone 2 more because it has more of that "gritty" feel too it and because it's the shooter I've been wanting to play ever since I got my PS3.

It's been nearly 2 years since the Wii was released and you still can hardly find one in a store, I don't think the Wii is a fad.

Wii sales have taken a small dip recently, but I'm pretty sure that Wii Music will ignite Wii sales once again for the Holiday... even though Wii Music is a POINTLESS game, the casuals will jump all over it.

And lets not forget about Too Human and Infinite Undiscovery Flopping.

Heavenly Sword was not a "flop" because it definantly got higher review scores than Too Human and it's Metacritic score is at 8.3, Too Human's Metacritic is at 6.8 and Infinite Undiscovery is at 6.9, I don't think a game at 8.3 Meta is a "flop". You can talk about HAZE all you want, but leave Heavenly Sword out of the discussion. Why couldn't you just stick to article instead of flaming?......

Tons of very high Video Game review scores shouldn't automatically qualify a game for Game of The Year... and a game like Spore hasn't offered anything near what MGS4 has delivered and what other big games coming out this year will offer. Spore, Game of the Year? Hell no.

This entire game was a Great moment.

My biggest WTF! moment in MGS4 is whenever I saw how smooth the transition was between in-game cutscenes and the actual gameplay, my second biggest WTF! moment was when you got to take control of Metal Gear Rex and my third biggest WTF! moment was when you got to play through a short portion of Shadow Moses in MGS1... now that was just brilliant, Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions put together a masterpiece.

Well, I do hope that these changes are enough to ensure the PS3 version scores higher.

But, I'm afraid that Alone in the Dark just doesn't fit into my schedule of games this Fall/Holiday season because there's around 6-7 games coming out this Fall that I've been anticipating nearly all year and those games defiantly will have to come first.
