I think that a lot of people are underestimating how big SOCOM Confrontation could/will be when it drops, because SOCOM was one of the biggest franchises on the PS2, and the franchise sold millions of units on the Playstation 2, and I would only imagine that a huge influx of SOCOM fans that still have PS2's will be buying PS3's because it's probably a game that they WAITED for before buying a PS3.
If Sony advertises LittleBigPlanet very well and if LBP gets well received by the G...
I had seriously thought about buying the Survival Edition, but I just didn't feel like paying $130 bucks for it.... so I pre-ordered the Collectors Edition from Amazon instead. I'm sure that the Survival Edition will be on Ebay selling for double when it comes out.
And who would have thought that the PS3 version would have sold out first? PS3 owners DO buy games.
I think that PS3 hardware sales might just increase in Japan with the release of this game. Anytime a JRPG is released for a system in Japan, the hardware sales almost always take a spike.
I was more interested in Alone in the Dark when it first came out.... but not anymore. There's just WAY too many other big games coming out this Fall for me to even consider Alone in the Dark when it first comes out later this year. I might pick it up sometime next year in between the release of Killzone 2 and Infamous just to keep me busy if the game turns out good.
But honestly, I think that it's just suicide for Atari to even release Alone in the Dark this Fall because there's...
It's good to see Ryan is doing well and is back in the States, but I just can't wait to see which studio he goes to next. Since he said he wants to stay on the West Coast near his family, I would love to see him with a Sony studio in the West Coast though (Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Insomniac, Zipper Interactive, etc..) But wherever he goes, I wish him the best.
@ShutupandPlay
What the hell are you talking about? No good games on the PS3 in months? If I remember correctly, both the PS3 and 360 get almost the same games. When is the last time the Xbox 360 had a AAA exclusive? Yeah I know, it's been a long while since the 360 had a AAA exclusive. Just in case you've forgotten, the PS3 has gotten a AAA exclusive (MGS4) this year unlike the 360, so think before you type lies.
I'm not flaming here, I just can't stand it when fanb...
Even if it's cheaper to get a 360 Arcade and buy the 120GB hard drive separately I would pay more for the Elite just to get the Black Color if I was to buy a Xbox 360.... I'm just not a fan of White Electronics, I like my electronics Black. Plus, the Elite is supposedely more reliable and that's worth paying more too.... but still, I think that the price of the 120GB 360 hard drive is too high... I think it should be selling for at least $99 bucks.
The last time I checked Amazon,...
Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 will have plenty of games. Last year the 360 had the upper hand but this year I feel that the PS3 and 360 are on par when it comes to games.
But, one thing I noticed is that the Xbox 360 has yet to get a big AAA exclusive this year so far, and it's similiar to what the PS3 went through last year because the PS3 really didn't get a big game last year until Uncharted Drakes Fortune in November.
Now I think the only question is will Microsoft have...
When it comes to developing games, Insomniac just don't stop. Resistance 2 in 2006, Rachet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction in 2007, Resistance 2 in 2008, and a rumored sequel to Rachet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction Late next year... wow, AAA PS3 exclusives year after year from one developer. Kudos to Insomniac. I can't wait to see what comes out of their new North Carolina studio.
I just wish that every 3rd party developer was as familiar with the PS3 as Insominac, ...
I hope that Yakuza 3 for the PS3 ends up being just as good or even better.
Yeah, you need a hard drive to download those games and movies, but as always, Microsoft wants people to buy the Arcade and then go out and waste money on their overpriced hard drives.
Microsoft talking about Xbox Live and Downloadable movies and Downloadable games and still selling 360's with no hard drives is very hypocritical of them.
@LightningPS3
The Xbox 360 may have outsold the PS3 in the U.S. last holiday season, but the Playstation 3 sold more units Worldwide for 2007. Even with Halo 3, the Xbox 360 wasn't able to outsell the PS3 worldwide last year.
Worldwide sales are the most important anyways. The only reason why Xbox fans and Microsoft make such a big deal about selling well in the U.S. is because that's the only territory that the 360 has a huge lead over the PS3. Sales just in the U.S...
I almost feel sorry for the people in those Alan Wake forums, I mean, what is there to talk about concerning the game?
Even if Remedy doesn't show anything about the game or any new details about Alan Wake, I think that they could have released a new teaser trailer this year or something... I mean, Sony has games coming out in 2009 that they've already showed trailers and revealed details about. If Remedy doesn't announce something new about Alan Wake before this year is up, I th...
The Xbox 360 20GB model was avaliable for $299 and the Arcade was still $279 in August and the Xbox 360 only managed to sell just under 200,000 units? Is it just me or is that very underwhelming sales considering the already low price of the Xbox 360?
The Xbox 360 should be selling more monthly considering that it's been nearly at the Wii's price point in the U.S. for a long time but it's not.
I think that it's already crowded enough with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.
At this point in video game console history, I don't think that a console from a new manufacturer would fare too well in the market unless it was Apple.
@Cookiie
A Console War is a Worldwide War, not just a console sale war in the United States.
The U.S. is the only territory that the Xbox 360 has, but ALL 3 Territories are just as important.
Well, as usual, the actual hardware sales are lower than predicted numbers.... also Sony was phasing out the 40GB model to make way for the new 80GB PS3's in August.
I did expect the PS3 to outsell the 360 in August, but 10,000 units isn't much anyways.
You are the one playing and trading Pokemon cards because it's been 8 months and the Xbox 360 hasn't got a AAA exclusive all year.
And almost the same amount of games have been coming out for both the PS3 and 360 this year, so what the hell are you talking about when you say, PS3 owners are waiting for games to come?... Stupid.
I bought the Standard DVD version of Transformers last year when it first came out, and I'm buying it again to have it on Blu-ray... I went to my local Target and Best Buy this weekend and they were all sold out of Transformers on Blu-ray.
I've got Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Iron Man on Pre-order... and of course I'm going to pre-order Dark Knight whenever it first becomes avaliable....I can't even imagine how big Blu-ray sales and Blu-ray players will...
One thing that I've noticed is that every time the Xbox 360 has managed to outsell the PS3 this year in the U.S., it only managed to outsell the PS3 by a very small margin. There was even one month (I think it was April) when the 360 only outsold the PS3 by just 900 units.
At the previous $279 price point that the 360 was at this entire year, you would think the 360 would be selling much more than the PS3 but it hasn't. With the PS3 being at $399 and $499 this year in the U.S. an...
