The spur of Xbox 360 console sales in Japan were only driven by the release of Infinite Undiscovery, not the price drops because the 360 has already been cheap over there.
I guess the Crysis on PS3 rumors just might end up being true. Can't wait to see what Crytek can cook up for the PS3.
I sure haven't heard much about White Knight this year, but I hope it turns out a very good game.. Level 5 is working on it so I'm sure it will be a solid JRPG. This game should definantly spur PS3 console sales in Japan this holiday.
I wonder what's next for Level 5...hopefully Dark Cloud 3
Anyways, I can't wait to hear more about White Knight at TGS
@ ShadowMan,
The PS3 version of FFXIII will not suffer because of the Xbox 360 because the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions aren't even being developed together. The Xbox 360 version hasn't even started development yet, so how will the PS3 version be affected? The PS3 version WON'T be affected and the PS3 version will obviously be the superior version because FFXIII is being optimized for the PS3 and is being developed for the PS3 first and will be ported to the 360.
Seriously, does this even surprise anyone? It's obviously the Xbox 360 is holding back 3rd party games and it's VERY obvious that the Xbox 360 held back Grand Theft Auto 4 too.... GTA4 could have been so much bigger and better if it was optimized for the PS3 to take advantage of the Cell and Blu-ray.
Developers like this should just go all out with the PS3 version and just do whatever they can with the 360 version because the PS3 shouldn't have to be held back because the 360 can...
I love almost all types of music, but I defiantly can't stand Soulja Boy's songs.... and that "Superman" dance he came up with is just whack too.
I like the beat in his some of his songs, but it's just the way he sounds when he raps and his lyrics in his songs that make most of his songs annoying to even listen too.
And I have to agree with BubblesDAVERAGE, Soulja Boy is probably just one of those Madden gamers and probably sucks at any game except for Spo...
I think that second price drop on the 360 this year in Europe will not even matter. I mean come on, the Xbox 360 has been cheaper than the Wii over there for a while but the PS3 still outsells it in Europe, so why would yet ANOTHER price drop make any difference?
I mean, it's not like people in Europe couldn't afford a 360 before this price drop because the majority of the Europeans were buying PS3's at higher price points and if they were buying PS3's at higher price points, th...
"Arguably, the latest two platforms, the PS3 and the Xbox 360, came about too quickly."
Well, first I have to disagree with that statement because I feel that the Xbox 360 came about too quickly because Microsoft pulled the plug on the Original Xbox in 4 years and it really never got a chance to be as big as it could have been (on a global scale) and obviously the Xbox 360 was rushed, just look at hardware issues.
Sony came out with the PS3 6 years after th...
@ Franklienstein
If you think $499 is too expensive for the PS3 go back and look at June's NPD numbers. The PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 that month 2:1 with Metal Gear Solid 4 bundles selling at $499 and with the help of a big game like MGS4 and the Xbox 360's lowest price point was $279 back then.
It's obvious that if the PS3 is bundled with highly anticipated game or if a highly anticipated exclusive game hits the PS3, it will sell very well regardless of price of the...
The Bundles #1 and #2 would definantly be the most effective.
I have Uncharted and it's a great game and all, but I think that Sony should have went with Resistance 2 to include in the 160GB bundles this November.
This doesn't surprise me in any way because it's America and the 360 is the most popular hardcore game console in America. Plus, the majority of the people working in those game stores are 360 fans anyways.... Still, I think it's ridiculous that game stores would recommend the console with the highest failure rate.... I mean, if you worked at a car dealership, would you recommend a Car model that had just been recalled for transmission problems? I don't think so.
Well, the reason why I think the PS4 wont have Blu-ray is because each generation, Sony has introduced a new format. For the PS1 it was CD-ROMS, for the PS2 it was DVD and for the PS3 it was Blu-ray. I'm pretty sure that Sony would introduce some other new format for the PS4 or almost everything will be downloaded for the PS4.
I really loved Max Payne 2 and I remember I replayed the game last summer on a harder difficulty level (I think it was Hard Boiled difficulty). The only issue I had with the game is the damn frame rate... the game had so many framerate issues (PS2 version) it wasn't funny, but I still managed to enjoy the game. I really hope that Rockstar comes out with a Max Payne 3.
I'm just glad I still have Windows XP. If Windows Vista didn't have so many incompatibility issues I think that it would be a pretty nice OS.
Well first of all, that Killzone 2 E3 2005 trailer was just a "Target Trailer" and it was never meant to be the look of the final game. Guerrilla has come pretty damn close to that 2005 trailer and there's still time for them to polish it even more.
If you ask me, Microsoft underdelivered with the Original Xbox because they cut it's lifecycle so short before it ever got a chance to make an impact on the gaming industry.
I'm just glad to hear that there is Porsche's in the game because I'm a huge Porsche fan. Porsche 911 Turbo For the Win.
Well I like having Backwards compatibility in my 60GB PS3 because I can play my old PS1 and PS2 games on my PS3 and I don't have to have multiple consoles sitting out at one time because everything can be played on one console.
I'm sure that there are some people that probably haven't played a single PS1/PS2 game on their PS3, but I'm the type of person that goes back to play older games that I've beaten several years prior.
Since the PS3 has already been out for almost 2 years this guy expects the PS3 to last 6 more years? Nah, I say the PS3 has about another 7-8 years to fulfill it's 10 year lifecycle. I mean, the PS2 is going into it's 8th year and it's still going pretty strong for a console that's been on the market for so long and the PS3 is going to inherit that because by now people know that Playstation consoles are around for the long haul.
When it comes to the Xbox 360, I'm predicting that...
With such a long script, I hope God of War 3 ends up being a pretty lengthy game ( I hope it's longer than God of War 2 at least).
I just hope that GOW3 is indeed coming Christmas 2009....but something tells me that GOW3 might be released in March 2010 just so it can coincide with the previous March release dates like the previous God of War games because every God of War game has come out in March... but if GOW3 really does come out Christmas 2009, Sony will definantly finish ou...
Seriously, Sony needs to acquire Level 5 because they NEED a first party developer that makes nothing but JRPG's. Microsoft has Lionhead to make RPG's for them. Sony has 1st party developers and 2nd party developers that make nearly all genres of games EXCEPT for RPG's and they need that.
If Sony doesn't acquire Level 5, hopefully they will publish Dark Cloud 3.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to hearing more about White Knight because there hasn't been much revealed a...
