Wondering where the time went
CRank: 5Score: 53410

I've played a couple of the 'Rune Factory' titles. If 'Oceans' does release here, I'll pick it up, Move or no Move.

Unfortunately, blind fanboyism has turned many gaming forums into flame-pits of ignorance, where console warrior battle for Internet prestige.

It's great to see the industry weathering the recession well, regardless of individual sales figures.

Microsoft already won this year? Really? With 2+ months to go?
What about Nintendo?

I wasn't expecting numbers that high. Good to see Move doing well.

In much the same way that anything Sony does is a failure, according to Microsoft fanatics? Then yes, you're right. Groups of gaming fanatics need to broaden their perspectives, whether they support Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo.

It's best to wait and see how Kinect plays out in the mainstream. Claiming it will be a resounding success, or a colossal failure, is premature at this point. Nothing is guaranteed.

I have to agree. There's something about slaughtering 1,000+ enemies at a go that is a stress reliever, especially after a tough workday,

Kinect-enabled DLC would be a great option; those who have the peripheral could use it. Sounds like a good business sense. They can wait to see what the adoption of Kinect is like, and then decide whether or not to release DLC to utilize it.

When I think of versatility, Koei doesn't come to mind.

I liked the first 'Samurai Warriors' game; perhaps I'll give this one a look.

Story is a huge part of gaming for me, so I never skip the cutscenes the first time through. I like to get what I pay for.

Wishful thinking there? Or do you truly believe millions of people are going to cancel their preorders because of the game's first official delay in the West?

GT is just one of those gaming franchises, like Halo and Pokemon, that sell millions. The series has gotten along quite well without my money; I've never bought or played a GT game. A few nerds canceling preorders because they can't wait a little extra time will be like a rock tossed into the ocean.

The martyr complex is always good for a chuckle.

Given your username, that reaction is hardly surprising.

You would think that, instead of whinging and bitching about a video game delay, gamers fortunate enough to be able to afford them and live in a place where they can enjoy their hobby would be able to put something like this is perspective.

But no. The power of Nerdrage is too strong for maturity to enter the picture.

If someone refuses to buy a game because it was delayed, they weren't that interested in it in the first place. If you're a true GT fan...

Though I own 4 out of the 5 listed, I'd like the chance to retire my disks to storage. I never played 'Valkyrie Profile,' and I'd happily drop some cash to purchase it.

If that was true, Bungie's next release will sell most on PS3, given the spiteful, bitter vitriol some people posted when they announced they were going multiplatform. And Kinect would tank, given the negative tone of posts around it.

The lesson here? Judging a future release's sales on the tone of Internet posts is foolish at best, idiocy at worst. But keep on trucking, if it makes you happy.

The reason, as I see it, is that some people who claim to be gamers seem less interested in games, and more interested in the business side of the industry. Sad, really.

Proper product positioning is smart business.

"Afraid?" Why would Sony make business decisions out of fear, and why with one of its flagship franchises? That's as stupid as claiming MS moves release dates for Halo, or Nintendo for Mario, out of some 'fear.'

In other words, it's bull. Companies often shift release dates. Movie studios, for example. Stop making something more significant than it is. GT 5 has only officially been delayed twice - once in Japan, and this delay.

It&#...

While the 360 shots sometimes have superior textures, the PS3 has superior shade and lighting. Conclusion? Both games look great.

I'll be picking up the PS3 version, but the differences between the two are negligible and certainly no reason for fanboys of either camp to be excited. It's not like the Bayonetta or FFXIII releases, where one platform clearly provided better visuals.

That's the perfect option for me.

I wonder what all the fanboys will do, now that NPD isn't publishing its figures to the public? What will they use as the foundation for their pointless arguments and post-battles for pixel supremacy? I guess they'll have to wait for official figures from the companies themselves, or they could continue bickering over VGCharts. ;D

I'm curious about the official numbers. If these figures are in the ballpark, congratulations to Sony. The way some people posted here,...
