No, you just like to troll in PS3 and Move articles because it makes you feel better about your console of choice.
I expect that we'll start to see the Kinect advertising push once November hits, particularly in the run-up to the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S.
The most I've seen in the part of Canada I live in so far has been some ads for Kinect-enabled 360s.
It makes much more sense for Sony to position GT5 to not compete with Black Ops, than it does for its release to be determined by Kinect.
Why?
Fans of GT aren't going to put off purchasing the title because of the release of a peripheral device on another console. However, some of them *might* delay the purchase in favour of Black Ops. You don't want to have two major titles cannibalizing sales from each other.
To put it simply, no P...
If you believe Kinect will be the end of the PS3 in the U.S., I feel sorry for you.
Sony isn't going anywhere, Kinect or no Kinect. It produces enough quality first-party titles to satisfy its userbase and said userbase is large enough to secure substantial third party support.
Just saying. ;-)
Agreed. I certainly don't regret purchasing my PS3 and launch. It won in the most important market to me: myself. It provided me with outstanding value in terms of the tech it gave me at launch, with its built-in Blu-Ray, wi-fi, and easily upgradeable HDD. While the first couple of years were rather dry in terms of games, it's picked up a great deal recently.
I find it funny, how so many bitch about Sony's 'corporate arrogance,' as if no other company has ...
Many of us women enjoy video games. I certainly have my own list of most attractive male gaming characters. ;)
Why would that matter? GT fans won't give a damn either way. Comparisons are important to fanboys.
Competition is excellent for the marketplace, yes. Having 3 strong entries into the console market, each offering different experiences, is a great thing for consumers.
I, for one, don't understand the 'console warrior' mentality. Regardless of what the manufacturer's sell in a given month, I enjoy my games.
And you know this how, exactly? With nothing factual to back it up, you're just expressing what you wish would happen. Wishes aren't facts, by the way.
Wait and see what Kinect actually sells before spouting off and pulling figures out of your backside. If you can.
Kinect offers me nothing, since I can't even use it. Move is the only option I have between the two, thanks to MS designing an inaccessible peripheral.
Though I'll wait until the games justify the purchase, before I buy Move.
Now, now. Don't equate your wishes with corporate policy. Saying 'they're obviously disappointed in the sales' has as much validity as me saying 'they are obviously satisfied with the sales.' Neither you, nor I work for Sony. We have no idea how the company's upper management thinks.
From my recollection, Nintendo doesn't mention specific sales figures often. Perhaps it is part of Japanese corporate culture.
It's bad for the 360 zealots who wanted Move to be a failure, yes. For the rest of us, 1.9 million in a month without Japan is quite a decent number.
Back in the Atari 2600 days, neither me, nor any of my friends, cared what Atari sold relative to Colecovision or Intellivision. Games mattered.
The 'console war' amongst game fans is stupid. The sell-rate for consoles, peripherals, and games matters to the companies involved. Whether or not a game sells 10 copies, or 10 million, makes no difference to me, as long as I'm enjoying that game.
Agreed. This will be my first chance to play a 'Mass Effect' title, since I don't have a 360 or gaming PC. I'm sure Bioware will be able to introduce enough of the material to give PS3 owners a full understanding of the story.
This is only a video game, after all. Not Shakespeare.
I would have thought that this thread would have no posts from 360 fans, since it doesn't concern their console at all.
lol
On-topic: Excellent numbers for both MS and Sony this month.
It's an industry for the companies involved, yes. But for gamers, it's just about playing games - or it should be.
I never see the same kind of numbers-based posturing from movie and book fans.
On-topic: I'm surprised at KH charting so high.
And much less than New Super Mario Brothers Wii. ;-)
Great numbers for Halo: Reach, but not unexpected.
It's more even between Sony and Microsoft, which offers a good balance to Nintendo's domination.
Unfortunately, that seems to be a prevalent mentality this console generation. It's either one or the other in the minds of fanboys. No coexistence is possible, or allowed.
Kinect has great potential to be a hit with casual gamers, just as Move can accommodate more traditional, so-called 'hardcore' game experiences. The sooner all camps of fanboys accept this simple truth, the better gaming discussions will be.
