Wondering where the time went

That's what I'd do as well, if I had a 360. If anything, playing "Fable 2" first would make you familiar with the setting and play mechanics before moving on to "Fable 3."

For every person who hates "Fable 3" there are people who love it. In the end, opinion pieces praising a title to the heavens or venting the author's spleen about how awful it is won't change anyone else's enjoyment of the title. Thankfully.

The "Fable" series is the one series that makes me wish I owned a 360. I've really enjoyed plenty of games that get middling review scores, and there are plenty 10/10 games that aren't to my taste. ...

My launch 60 Gig still works perfectly. I wouldn't say it's crap quality. Then again, maybe it's just how I use consoles. My launch PS2 and my PSX (from 1997) still work perfectly, too.

Bonus Points for quoting the Wicker Man, and using a pick of Sgt. Howie.

No matter how creepy some fans may be, there's always someone weirder.

I wish I could unsee this. That's what I get for clicking the link.

Talking about games would be grand.

I buy new as well. Gaming is a major hobby of mine, so I support the industry with my money, so that I'll have new titles to play.

Wow. Who'd have thought that some console/PC gamers could be so bitchy about social games? Upset and insecure that social gaming has a larger userbase, and generates more money, than console/PC platforms?

Not everyone plays games to develop 'mad skillz' or earn pixel trophies and bragging rights. Some people just want to play simple, relaxing games that have attainable goals.

Get over yourselves. Social gaming isn't going anywhere, and the pro...

Considering that some console gamers pay money for DLC for games they already purchase for about $60 a pop, console gamers have no room to bitch about social gamers.

FarmVille is free to play. Players can choose to purchase premium decorations and animals for their farms, but they don't have to. You can enjoy the game without paying a single cent, if you choose to.

Calling FarmVille players "stupid, bored Facebook addicts" is a bit much, just be...

No offense taken. Female gamers, especially of my age, tend to be a minority online. It makes me chuckle how men insult other men by mentioning feminine traits. I've never heard a woman tell another "Stop being such a man about it." :D

I can't understand why "console warriors" are so wrapped up in how things sell. There's plenty of room for both Kinect and Move, just as this gen has proven there's room for strong console contenders from Son...

Some of us are females, though I'm not the least bit sensitive about the console "wars."

Anyone who thinks Kinect won't have high initial sales is deluding themselves. That said, the tech isn't for everybody.

Wow. Insecure much?

Some of us aren't getting Kinect for other reasons, you know. Not everyone can use it, for example.

I pay my ISP to get access to the Internet. 360 fans have nothing to do with my access to the Web.

Just saying.

If my launch 60-Gig dies, I'm going to buy a Slim. My launch PS2 still works perfectly.

Considering how VGC had to adjust their estimates to reflect the official numbers released by Sony and Microsoft, and considering the gap between VGC's estimates and those official numbers, those fans were correct.

It has nothing to do with 'trusting' VGC, since VGC performed its adjustment in the wake of the official earnings reports.

It must drive you nuts that the PS3 plays multiplat titles and offers exclusive PSN games to tide fans over until the next exclusive comes out. Sony owns enough first-party studios to churn out high quality titles on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, MS lacks a strong first-party stable of studios. Now that Fable III has been released, what's the next big 360-exclusive title, not including Kinect games?

Why do VGC's defenders keep saying their numbers are "sold to consumers?" VGC estimates. That's it. They have no way of tracking every individual purchase - no more than the Big 3 do. Sold to retail is the key way to gauge consumer interest.

Once the retailer's stock is low, or sold out, they re-order. If the stock doesn't move in a timely fashion, the retailer isn't going to allow units to sit on shelves, occupying the valuable shelf space that...

That's the same for all the manufacturers, actually. All 3 report the numbers sold to retail.

Not everyone who plays video games reads reviews, though. Plenty of people blind-buy their games, picking up titles without checking out the reviews first.

Mr. Greenberg makes a very valid point. There's a segment of the gaming audience that pays little to no attention to the reviews of titles. They simply buy what they think they will like. The success of companies like Big Fish and Popcap prove just how profitable the 'casual' gaming market is.

It's like the summer blockbuster "popcorn" movies. The critics may pan them for being simplistic, poorly written, and badly acted, but more people around the w...
