Wondering where the time went

Hopefully, they'll offer a bundle with different games. Neither Forza nor Alan Wake interest me. But if I could get a bundle with some of the RPGs...

It all comes down to personal preferences.

Well done, lads. Well done.

All three console manufacturers know their "hardcore" audiences well - the people that will buy new consoles at launch and buy the big exclusives. At the same time, they want to diversify to bring different types of gamers, the 'casuals' who just want to pass some time and aren't as involved in gaming.

Congrats to both companies for trying to reach a broader gaming audience. Gaming is changing, much as it did in the 80's, when it moved out of the arc...

I'm really looking forward to this game; I had no idea Takehito Koyasu was doing voicework in this. Brings back memories of my anime-watching days.

Where I live in Canada, retailers card before selling M-rated games - though a parent can buy the M-rated game for their child.

The issue for me is the slippery slope of government interference these laws can create.

What's wrong with parents informing themselves and making their own decisions with respect to raising their kids? What if a parent decides that his or her child, a minor, is mature enough to handle playing an M-rated game? Does that state h...

Hopefully, this law will be struck down. We permit "torture porn" movies like 'Saw' and 'Hostel' to be shown in theatres with age restrictions. If parents don't want their children to play violent video games, they need to take steps to ensure their kids won't play the games.

I support prohibiting sales of M-rated games to kids. Adult material, cigarettes, and alcohol can't legally be sold to minors, and graphic sex or violence is adult m...

I've never had any interest in racing games.

Edit: Pointless disagrees are hilarious.

Considering the financial deal struck by the HD-DVD side to secure HD-DVD exclusivity from Paramount and Dreamworks, it's pointless to claim Blu-Ray won because of money spent by Sony.

Consumers favoured Blu-Ray. WB gave HD-DVD a chance, but the simple fact is that not enough HD-DVDs were sold during the holiday season of 2007 for WB. Thus, they chose Blu-Ray. Even 300, which initially released with more features on HD-DVD, sold more on Blu-Ray.

The marke...

Still angry about the failure of HD-DVD? Take it up with Warner Bros., since it struck the final nail in HD-DVD's coffin. Not even the HD-DVD exclusivity deal with Paramount and Dreamworks could save the HD-DVD format.

I hope they do. I never played the original games.

I cringed a little, when I first read it.

That's an excellent idea, giving people who just want to play online and have no interest in the rest of Live a bare-bones option.

The "Samurai Warriors" series is the same as "Dynasty Warriors," just set during the Warring States period in Japan, instead of in China.

The combat is button-mashing, and repetitive, but I enjoy them. Some days, I don't want to play complex games. Hacking 1000+ enemies in one level can be a great stress reliever. :D

Koei, if you're going to bring this to the West, please include the Japanese language track. The English voices in "Samurai Warriors 2" are excruciating.

I can be happy about it, because Sony released a high-quality product that has provided me with many hours of entertainment.

There were plenty of media stories touting the end of the Playstation brand for the first couple of years after the PS3's launch, yet it remained on the market and has achieved a measure of success some never thought it would. That is worth celebrating. Just as Microsoft's and Nintendo's success is worth celebrating.

Unless ...

Perhaps it's the same blindness that prevents people from acknowledging how successful the PS3 has been the past couple of years, given its difficult start.

I'd be very surprised if both sell that much.

I think the key for Kinect's continued success, after its high initial sales phase, is for MS to begin rolling out more 'hardcore' Kinect games to appeal to the 360's main userbase. If these games don't appear within the first 6 months, I think there's a risk of Kinect becoming a gimmick, rather than a true gaming controller.

It's also possible the technology in Kinect could fail as a gaming device, but succeed in other applications.

No matter how 'innovative' Kinect is, my muscles and joints won't move as Kinect needs. My body can't be the controller, if it can't stand or walk unaided.

Move might be 'ancient,' but it's more accessible.
