Wondering where the time went

I hope MS does release a new home console in the next cycle. It's great to have options.

You have a personal preference for the 360's games. I have a personal preference for titles from Sony and Nintendo.

We're simply individuals. Neither of us speaks for "many gamers." We only speak for ourselves, and our opinions aren't facts that everyone else has to accept.

What does Kinect "liberate" us from? The games industry doesn't oppress women. Women have the same opportunity to go out and purchase consoles and games, and to play those games, that men do.

Will Kinect enable more women to experience gaming? Possibly. But let's not get carried away. It's not going to lead a new social revolution. Gaming has come a long way since the 80's in terms of mainstream appeal, but it's just entertainment.

I'm glad it was delayed. The Holiday Season is crowded with big releases as it is. I'd rather LBP 2 not get lost in the shuffle.

The first LBP was an amazing, fun game. I'm really looking forward to the sequel.

I can see the space issue being significant in Asia as well.

A great ad.

I enjoy mocking national stereotypes. Good job, Sony! :D

As a Canadian, Europe makes me giddy, so it balances out. Must be the whole "ancestral homeland" thing. :D

We're the oft-forgotten younger 'sibling' of the U.S.A., and like all siblings, we enjoy pissing each other off and making fun of each other on occasion, but we have a 'familial' bond tying us together; we come to each others' aid when need be.

Funny how "teh selz numbers" dominate so many gaming discussions.

Cue fanboy rantings from both sides.

Time for popcorn.

Such a shame that none of the "LoK" voice talent was mentioned. That series has the highest quality, all around voice acting in gaming, in my opinion.

Excellent news. Hoping it's a reboot of "Medieval"

+Bubbles to you, sir.

Both Move and Kinect improve upon existing tech, but neither of them revolutionizes anything. If Kinect becomes a new input standard, that's different. But as for now, it, like the Move, is nothing more than a peripheral device.

I'm waiting for 'Sorcery' to come out before I purchase Move - though LBP2 might change that. :)

5569d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

I see it as an evolution of existing tech, rather than an innovation. It's not bringing anything new to the table. It improves on a control scheme that's been out for several years.

In gaming terms, Kinect and Move are essentially the same thing - motion-based controllers.

It's in its non-gaming applications that Kinect innovates. Being able to voice-control your console, for example. That's something new.

And Move/Sony articles, unfortunately.

5569d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Actually, Gigaware, I can't play Kinect. Physically.

Full-body controls are only useful for people who can use their full bodies without assistance devices. I can't. That's why I have a problem with the Kinect Hype Train - the articles promoting it as a revolution in gaming, a "Second Coming" that will change the way people game forever. Such hyperbole is useless hype.

Do you understand now?

I'm no fan(girl? What is...

I can see it doing big numbers with casuals in households that already own 360s. I doubt Kinect alone will prompt people to buy a 360 though. We'll have to wait and see.

The post-holiday numbers are going to be interesting.

Exactly. People interested in their health should exercise, whether at home or at the gym, and not rely on a video game to improve their health.

I'm another gamer with 30+ years at the hobby, and I use my laptop for casual gaming. On my consoles, I prefer more complex gaming experiences.

Perhaps you should read the article next time? An exec from Sony wishing Nintendo success with the 3DS is hardly an example of "savagery."

5569d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Repeating that phrase won't make it happen.
