Wondering where the time went
CRank: 5Score: 53410

It's certainly not going to appeal to arcade racing fans, but I'm actually looking forward to playing GT5 because its more of a simulator, and not an arcade racer title.

I found 'Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove' one of the most atmospheric games I've played in a long time.

Why would MetaScore matter? Isn't the individual gamer the best judge of what he or she considers "top quality?"

5673d ago 5 agree3 disagreeView comment

What is it with fanboys and this talk of "Battles?" lmao

Do you guys win medals for "fighting the good fight?"

Because some reviewers preferred Forza? People's opinions differ. Those opinions don't determine a title's quality.

Or do you only go by other people's reviews when you buy games?

5673d ago 2 agree4 disagreeView comment

No. People have been waiting 5 years for a new GT game.

Gamers don't wait for scores. We play games, don't we? Or are scores that much more enjoyable?

@alb1899:

What are you talking about? I've never said anything about Halo: Reach, so why bring it up?

Popular games sell extremely well, regardless of reviews. The fanbases for certain series don't care about reviews. They're fans of the games, and they'll buy the games regardless.

Whether you, or any other console "warrior" on either side, want to believe it or not, all consoles will have their megahit exclusives - ...

I didn't know it would have a Classical soundtrack! That's music to my ears.

It's fascinating to see how this genre has evolved over the years. I certainly enjoy the hidden-object adventure titles. They allow me to get my 'point and click' adventure fix - something I'd missed since the Sierra days, with games like "Lara Bow and the Dagger of Amun-Ra."

You seem really desperate in your anti-GT rants. Why do you care how much it sells, or how it reviews?

5673d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

I can't wait to pick up my copy. It's my first GT game. Reviews mean nothing to me. I'm able to make my own decisions and form my own opinions about games.

I tend to enjoy games that score between 7-9 the most anyway. :D

Unfortunately, some believe opinions are facts. People can't have different preferences in the 'console wars.' It's either totally right or completely wrong.

Makes me wonder how they enjoy games at all.

Now, now. You know fanboys can't think for themselves, and they have to go with the opinions of reviewers rather than make their own decisions about games. ;-D

The delusions of fanboys never cease to amaze me.

A pro-360 site has something negative to say about a big PS3 exclusive? Color me shocked! No matter what fanboys (or reviews) say, GT 5 will sell millions. A built-in fanbase created over several console generations will do that. Just as 'Mario' and 'Halo' games will sell millions.

The sooner 360 fans accept that, the better it will be.

Agreed. As much fun as the 'gritty' action titles like the GoW series are, I need different gaming experiences, too. That's why "LBP" remains one of my favourite games this gen, and why I'll always own Nintendo consoles.

I can't imagine playing only one type of game.

The 'Next Big Thing' for GT fans, or console-agnostic fans of racing games.

The 'Next Big Flop' to fanboys who would take vicarious delight in seeing titles not on their consoles 'flop.'

'Just another game,' to everyone else.

That's why it's so important for gamers to have realistic expectations when it comes to their favourite titles - and also why numerical review scores are useless.

No game can be perfect. There will always be some flaw, somewhere in the title. Thus, no game deserves a 'perfect' score.

Gamers would have a much better time this gen if the expectations, and the hype, were lowered to reasonable levels. This goes for every major title, by the way, n...

No.

The people who want to buy it won't give a damn about the reviews. It has a built in fanbase. It's the same thing as movies. No matter how many critics trash them, 'popcorn' titles like the "Transformers" series dominate box office ticket sales.

No one called GT5 a revolutionary game, as far as what I've read. Other products have been hyped as revolutionizing gaming, but certainly not GT5.

Sadly, some gamers can't think for themselves and depend on other peoples' opinions.

I've never been excited for a racing game before, and I'm really looking forward to GT 5. For that reason alone, PD has achieved something. :)
