They're a lot of fun, especially with the drop in, drop out co-op.
I will buy this. The LEGO games are a blast.
Given the dire state of the global economy, it's no surprise that MS would release titles in its flagship series. Sequels are a safe bet than new IPs. That's why we have "God of War Ascension" in the pipe as well.
It's the same with the movie business. Reboots and sequels abound because they cater to an already established audience.
"Gears" is a very popular franchise, so I can't see a problem with MS releasing a new insta...
That's disappointing. Had it been a home console title, I would have bought it Day 1. Since I don't have a 3DS, I'll have to skip it.
Harvest Moon: Online would be great fun. I'd like a Marketplace as well, where you could buy other players' crops, livestock, and dishes.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Sony has in store for the Vita. And a release date for the FF X HD remaster would be great, too.
I'm not surprised. I prefer to play as male characters when there's a gender choice offered. I'd rather look at males than females, and it adds to the fantasy and escapism of the game simply because the character is something I'm not.
This is a fantastic concept. It could be a way for those of us who are unable to stand or walk unaided, but who still have lower body muscle control, to play the full motion games that require standing/jumping/etc. to play.
On the other hand, it has shades of Gibson, cyberpunk, and transhumanism to it, blurring the lines between man and machine. Interesting times we live in.
I'm not interested in next-gen consoles at this point, simply because the industry seems to be moving away from the types of games and gaming experiences I enjoy.
I don't play online multiplayer titles and prefer single-player games. JRPGs are some of my favourite games, and that genre has been woefully under-represented this gen with no indication that the situation will change in the next gen. I use a PC for social network gaming and Internet access, and I don'...
Exactly. I paid over $100 for 'Secret of Evermore' when it first released on the SNES. Game prices dropped significantly once the disc became standard, and have been relatively stable since the 90's.
Exactly.
I've been disabled since birth, and I've been gaming steadily since the Atari 2600 days. I can't use Kinect (or the Wii Balance Board, or any 'full body' peripheral where I have to stand and/or jump, etc.), but I've never had problems using standard controllers.
In fact, I think that using joysticks in my childhood improved my manual dexterity and my hand-eye coordination. Not to mention the social aspects of gaming. Being able to discuss and play game...
I chose the Vita first this time around. While I bought a DS Lite before a PSP, and used it much more, the 3DS doesn't offer me a compelling reason to purchase it right now. Perhaps later on, but for now, the Vita is the best handheld option for me.
I'm a videogame fan{girl?, woman? What's the proper term? lol}. I enjoy the hobby for what it is - entertainment - and I'll purchase whatever consoles and titles I feel will be the best value for my entertainment bucks.
I don't understand console fanboyism at all. Internet 'warriors' in their own minds 'battling' it out for some kind of supposed 'prestige' makes me laugh. Can you imagine how comedic it would be if there was the same lev...
I don't think Microsoft has lost its way at all.
Microsoft has succeeded in establishing a strong gaming/home entertainment brand with Xbox 360. While they have shifted focus away from more traditional "hardcore" gaming, they've expanded their service to provide a wide range of entertainment experiences for their consumers.
It's a fantastic piece of tech. Congrats to Sony for having a successful global launch. I've seen Vita advertised on several networks, which has been a pleasant surprise.
Exciting news! Can't wait.
Well said, svoulis. While owning multiple consoles may not be feasible for people, especially in the current economy, there's no reason for hostility against other platforms.
Having consoles succeed is best for the industry and best for gamers. I hope the Vita thrives. It's a wonderful piece of tech that has a lot of potential.
Very solid launch sales, and the software sales are encouraging. Here's hoping Sony can maintain momentum.
I agree. 'RE: 6' looks great, too.
