The PS4 can play PS4-exclusive games, which the PS3 cannot. There's your answer.
Not necessarily. PS3 launched to poor sales numbers, even though the PS2 had completely obliterated the competition in the previous gen.
They did, and that's why they deserve my money.
Depends on where you live. MS' TV integration and digital content deals mean nothing outside the US.
Selling out isn't as important as the number of consoles that constitute that sell out. If PS4 sells out with 3 million units during the launch window, and MS sells out with 2 million, or vice-versa, one of them will have an advantage moving forward.
Price is a big advantage, because when Joe or Jane Consumer (the ones who don't follow gaming news or gaming sites) goes to buy a console for their kids for Christmas, they'll see that one costs $100 less than the other. For that $100, they'll be able to afford some games for that console.
Look at the start of the current gen. PS3 was the 'ferrari' of this gen. It supported Blu-Ray playback when standalone BD players cost $1000. It had built in wi-fi, incl...
These threads crack me up. There's no point in arguing about specs. For casual gaming consumers, price is a far more influential factor. People who just play one or two games a year can get a bad case of 'sticker shock' if consoles carry a high price tag. It happened with PS3 at the beginning of this gen. It didn't matter that it sported the Cell processor. It didn't matter that it came with a Blu-Rat drive at a time when standalone Blu-Ray players were around $1,000. It w...
My thoughts exactly. I've been waiting for this since I bought me Vita at launch., and Vita TV seems like a nifty piece of tech.
I'm really excited about this. It adds great value to the Playstation ecosystem.
Really? Awesome. Can't wait to play The Order: 1886 on PS Vita! /s
All this could have been avoided if whoever was in charge of naming the XB1 took a few minutes to write (or type) the name out and read it aloud. No-one should be surprised that the 'XBone' nickname stuck, especially once the CoD dog was revealed. ;)
And lol at the idea of disrespecting a game console. Nonsense.
It's another element of Sony's Playstation ecosystem, and it gives them another route to deliver content to consumers. It adds functionality to the Vita that wasn't there before. That makes it a good thing.
It's great to see some counter-programming ahead of GTA V. This game looks to be as enchanting as 'LittleBigPlanet' was, a great game for all ages to enjoy.
'Samurai Warriors' games are my guilty gaming pleasure. There's something to be said for dealing with the day's stress by slaughtering 1000's of enemy grunts.
I've never been able to get into the 'Dynasty Warriors' games, though, even though it's basically the same game, just with a different cast and setting, lol.
If this came to North America, I'd definitely buy it. Being able to play my Vita games on my large TV would be awesome, and the device is quite inexpensive for its functionality.
Puppeteer looks amazing.
If they plan on going medieval for the sequel, I think it would be better to keep it to a historical setting rather than adding fantasy elements. A Viking-era setting would work really well.
They could go further back, like the Peloponnesian War, or what about the Trojan War? If they wanted to do something more modern, how about the Napoleonic Wars? Or even World War I? (Has there ever been a WWI combat game?)
If Ryse's concept ends up being a commercial/...
That's pretty cool. Even if the service is only basic for free users, it's still a good thing.
Sony acquires Atlus. Persona 5 exclusive to PS4. (or FF7 remake, lol).
PS4 offers me the best value for my money.
