That's cool. I see nothing of interest with XB1, so I'm not buying it. It doesn't mean XB1 is a bad console. It just means that it's a waste of my money for me to buy it.
Perhaps not on its own, but when combined with other games Sony's offering, for some of us, it is.
I bought my Playstation in 1997, along with 'Symphony of The Night' and 'Final Fantasy 7.' I had no idea what an epic gaming experience I was in for. Prior to that, I'd owned a SNES but had little interest in an N64. I followed with the PS2 at launch, the PS3 at launch, and I've pre-ordered my PS4. Through the generations, Sony's never left me feeling buyer's remorse. They've provided me some of my fondest gaming memories.
I've bought ...
Considering the shoddy quality of most launch games, I think 'Knack' fares a lot better than most.
Why are you so bothered by PS4 launch games when you said yourself that you're getting an XB1 now and the PS4 some time in 2014?
I make my own decisions when it comes to spending my money. I know it may be shocking to you, but not everyone shares your tastes in games. For me, an XB1 is a waste of money but I'm not foolish enough to presume I can tell others how to spend their cash. Have fun with your XB1. I'll have fun with my PS4. See? Everyone's happy.
Actually, comparing this launch window to those from previous generations, the games for both PS4 and XB1 are very decent.
I remember when PS2 launched. I picked up the original Dark Cloud and the Orphen game. Those were pretty terrible.
That's why I never judge a system by launch titles. It takes a few years for games to be made that make the most out of the hardware.
I'm certain if pre-order numbers were that strong, MS would have released an official statement to that effect, since that sort of press release would be great for the company. So I'll take this 'dev's' statements with a grain of salt.
That being said, anyone who believes the XB1 won't have strong launch sales is deluding themselves. The question remains as to whether the PS4 or XB1 will emerge as the dominant console this gen, but both are guaranteed ...
PS4 will be getting AAA titles as well. It's not as if Sony has reduced the number of AAA titles it will release on the platform. Instead, it has forged strong relationships with small-team, independent devs to ensure a constant flow of new content.
Having a strong stable of indie games isn't a negative for PS4. It's a positive.
My launch PS3 still works perfectly. My launch PS2 also works, as does the PS1 I bought in 1997.
That's why I'm getting a PS4 at launch. I've never had an issue with a Sony games console.
That's one of Sony's greatest advantages over the competition. Not only does it have a strong slate of support from small-team devs, it has a decades-long history of delivery incredible so-called 'AAA' exclusives. It's not as if the PS4 is only getting indie and FTP games. If it was, then the bitching about indies would have a point. But it's not. There will be plenty of big exclusives as well. The smaller games will prevent the drought between 'AAA' releases. ...
Exactly. It's not about which console is better. It's about which console is best suited for your individual preferences.
Unfortunately, Foxconn is a major supplier for many electronics companies, including Apple.
It would be nice if corporations put pressure on manufacturers to ensure workplace standards are followed, but realistically, that's not going to happen. PR statements may complain about it, but the bottom line remains the most important consideration for corporations.
Apple has been linked to Foxconn in the past, so maybe that's the company you're thinking of.
How do you know that most gamers play online? You don't. You're using your own experience and extrapolating from that.
There are a lot of people who game offline on consoles. There are also a lot of gamers who don't hook their consoles up to the Internet at all, because they live in places where there's no 'Net access, access is expensive, or there's a data cap in place by their ISP. Then, there are gamers who, like me, hook up consoles to the Internet...
It's simple. The two companies are competitors, not enemies. If it makes sense for them to do business with one another, they will. It's the same reason MS operating systems are on VAIO laptops. It's just business.
Time to revisit the game then.
I don't game online, and I still have gaming consoles. Some genres, like RPGs for example, are single-player titles.
The only online games I play are casual/social PC games.
If this game comes to the West, I'll get excited. More JRPG goodness is always needed.
Why should Sony have to defend the PS4? It's a games console. It's made to play PS4 games. In that way, it will never be outdated, because it will always be able to play games made for PS4. It's not as if PS4 games, a few years from now, will require any changes to the hardware. As long as the console works, it will be able to play the games made for it, no matter if those games are bought on the first day of launch or the last day the console is manufactured.

The DS4 is the best fit for me, since I don't play shooters. I've used that design since '97, and I have no reason to switch now.
