Congrats, Sony, on a job well done. Now, bring on the games.
The nostalgia factor is one key aspect of my enjoyment of A Link Between Worlds. As someone who bought A Link to The Past back when it was first released on SNES, I'm really enjoying the art style, etc. It doesn't matter to me if the game is impressive in a technical sense. I just love the opportunity to experience this 'spiritual successor' to one of my favourite games of all time.
I've said that since the XB1 was announced. Obviously, it will do better in the U.S. because its media/TV integration functionality is focused on that market. For those of us outside the U.S., XB1 is basically just a games console with added Kinect out of the box, since licensing of TV/digital entertainment is pretty much a minefield outside the U.S.
Therefore, unless non-U.S. gamers have a history of enjoying MS consoles and exclusives, there's little incentive to p...
There's not really a point in waiting for PS4 if you want to play PS3 games, since PS4 isn't backwards compatible.
*fingers crossed for PS3/PS4 reveal*
Exactly. The TV features of the XB1 are only available in some countries. For the rest of us, both consoles are basically game machines that offer similar experiences. Therefore, the choice becomes one based more on what exclusives games the person enjoys most.
While I agree that it's never wise to do something with your tech before properly researching it first, ruining someone else's enjoyment of something they bought is pathetic.
I have no idea why you got disagrees by stating a fact. The XB1 was designed primarily to be an all-in-one digital entertainment solution with the U.S. market in mind. Games are a part of that functionality.
The PS4 was designed primarily to be a video game console with some added digital entertainment functionality. This gives the console broader global appeal, but it lacks some of the U.S.-focused TV functionality for countries outside the U.S.
Yes, the XB1...
Protip: Not all disabled people have trouble talking. Some of us are, in fact, quite articulate. Next time, try making your point using something more accurate as a comparison.
Given the popularity of the PS4, your comment makes no sense. lol
Not surprising, given how the TV integration features are much more limited up here, so the XB1 for Canadians isn't the 'all-in-one' experience available in the States.
Hi, and welcome to the madhouse that is N4G. :D
I was nervous about getting my PS4 from Amazon Canada because of all the things I read online about problems with Amazon consoles. Fortunately, my PS4 worked out of the box.
I hope you get your PS4 issues straightened out soon. It's a great console.
MS may win the U.S. market, but PS4 has more appeal globally, given that XB1's touted TV and media integration is focused heavily on the U.S. market.
No idea why you got disagrees. I own both as well and enjoy them.
Have a bubble.
You could make the case that more XB1 owners bought BF4, but you can't make a generalization XB1 owners buy and play more games from that one example.
How surprising! /s
It will definitely be great for me, since I already have a Vita and a PS3. I have no idea why I've waited so long to get Plus.
I'll be subscribing to PS+ once my PS4 arrives. :)
Of course they are. It's pretty obvious that the integration elements were developed primarily for the U.S. market. Non-US gamers are just going to have to hope MS can work out the kinks, be patient, and enjoy the gaming aspects of the console at present.
I haven't seen any XB1 commercials from outside North America, so I don't know if they advertised the integration at the console launch, so I can't comment on whether or not the advertising was misleading.
I can't see any reason why XB1 would sell better than the 360 in Japan. At the beginning of last gen, the 360 secured several high-profile exclusive JRPGs, which had little effect on sales.
