It has some areas I hope can be sold as dlc but definately a 90%+ game.
Did you ever play the original games?
This game is very addicting.
Excellent remake to those that know the 18 year old original.
A suprise sleeper hit to those who happened to stumble upon this gem.
I don't think they've done a good job with the few RTS games that were released this generation. I'm glad they finally released one with quality. Hope this sells enough to reignite the genre.
It's one of those games you can't put down easily. If it's anything like X-COM from the PS1 and PC it will eat up many hours of your time.
Anyway how's dishonored? I hear good things about it, comparing it to Deus Ex, but I'm just not seeing it just by looking at the gameplay videos. What gives?
I'd give this game a 90%.
One of my friends on PSN happened to have the game. Last night we played two matches. The game is a blast to play.
He played the aliens while I played humans. First match I got killed as it seems the aliens had a huge advantage with mind control.
The second match I positioned all my soldiers in an alleyway and waited. I left one guy out for bait. Sure enough the aliens spotted him and all went after him which allowed me to move my other soldiers to t...
I bought the X-COM UFO Defense for the Playstation 1 back in 1994. It's one of those games I still play today and can't get sick of.
This new release is a bit more streamlined but in the trade off the new game feels more natural and less clunky than the original. I hope they release DLC that will deepen the gameplay. For example, add training courses (there's about six available).
I also wish they offer the original music track and incor...
I really want everyone to at least try this game. It's different than most games and provides a fresh experience for those looking for something more.
I am a bit disappointed to see a near 0 degree response here at N4G. This game has been absent from consoles for 18 years so I don't expect many gamers to recognize it. Still, for those looking for games with quality this is one of those worth trying. Thanks.
I think both companies can take lessons from past consoles. I think they are pushing online and service so hard that they are making games dysfunctional without it.
Game saves are becoming an issue as they are now locked by certain developers and unable to be backed up by users. These locked saves can magically be saved to cloud storage though...provided a paid membership is used. Past consoles didn't have this problem. So why take the user's ability to copy...
I try to Plat games that I like the most. When people look at my profile I want them to see the games I had the most value in.
The first Final Fantasy game I've ever played was Final Fantasy II on the Super Nintendo. At that time most games didn't have the depth, length, or type of gameplay that this one did. Most were 8 level games...beatable within 5-10 hours.
For 60 bucks a game like this would last me 60+ hours. It didn't have superior graphics and I was willing to sacrifice that in order to get thought provoking gameplay and story. As a matter of fact it was probably the only g...
I bought one of those Sony 24" 3DTVs. There is some truth regarding the complaints of blackouts on those tvs. Though my situation doesn't seem as severe as most reports, I can tell you what has happened to me.
Bought the TV in December 2011. During the first 3 months the TV would blackout during gaming about one per day. The blackout would last about 1-2 seconds. Then about 3 months in the TV blacked out and didn't return until I unplugged it and let it co...
A big disappointment I've had with consoles. They really started to abandon this genre since last gen.
Sony Reveals Cancelled Legend of Dragoon Sequel
source:IGN.com
"The cult favorite PSone RPG was to be continued."
4-12-12
"I still occasionally hear from fans of The Legend of Dragoon, and many want to know if there is a sequel," Yoshida admitted. "LOD2 was put into preproduction after I left the Japan Studio, but was eventually cancelled for some unknown reason, and the team members moved on to different proje...
Sony is doing it wrong. They need to stop making high quality exclusives and giving away free online with optional memberships. They need to drop the reliability of their consoles so that every consumer has one break on them every 1-2 years. I think that's more reasonable than having a console last 3-4 years.
They need to stop allowing consumers to upgrade their harddrives with any brand they choose. Instead they need to create a proprietary drive that only Sony sel...
I don't think the game industry knows how to keep the casual and social gamer. I think they got lucky when they released the Wii.
I think they are trying to pin down the market for this audience but they are stepping all over their core fanbase while doing so. One thing is for sure...they are willing to destroy established IPs for a chance to hit it big and appeal to the masses. They must be that much bigger than what they have now.
It's about time this gen started releasing these types of games.
It seemed hopeless that I'd ever see this type of game again on the consoles. I think being punished in a game is starting to trend again.
