They will be using the wrong kind of information to personalize the gamer's experience. It will be limited to business related data like genre, what you clicked on, number of hours spent on a game, etc. It's basically the data they are already receiving anyway.

What they need to do is add currently unmeasurable factors. It may not be the genre a gamer is interested in but rather the fact it has a focus on storyline. I like Metal Gear 4, Mortal Kombat 9, Ghostbuste...

Like I've been saying for 6 years now, digital as a format is more than protection from a small group of pirates. It is meant to be locked away behind services, far beyond the consumer's reach.

Digital is supposed to be cheaper for them. Yet they don't tell you how much more it costs to maintain servers and computer equipment in order to store your data. It's a daily cost vs. the one time price of physical discs and shipping. They don't want to reduc...

Great! Follow the bandwagon of reviews just to fit in. Doesn't anyone have the ability to form their own opinions today?

The game isn't that bad and anyone who says so needs to speak to me. Chances are they never played it. There seems to be a serious disconnect between the people currently playing it and those that form opinions based on what other people say.

Word of advice: Play the game first. Install the trophy/achievement set, post a link ...

Add 2 points for fans of the movie...whatever the score.

Play the game first before making judgements. It's one of those games that can't be judged otherwise.

I feel the same way toward the game. I think it's a great game for the fans of the movie. Those that followed the promises will be disappointed.

After much thought I realized that they under delivered with the lighting effects, some key nostalgic moments, and missing/reduced graphical qualities. For me, the final lighting effects, while noticeably inferior to the demo, still did a great job keeping the atmosphere.

I don't see how they didn'...

How many games are released broken on the 1st day? 1st month? There are plenty, including the most popular titles. It doesn't mean the developer "didn't intend for the game to be good"...or maybe they did.

In either case I'm not a fan of any game being released in a broken state. I think it's a really stupid way to do business for the customers. However, they're all using online updates as a crutch to cut corners. So, whether or not your de...

Why are you so concerned about what everyone else is saying? I went out and bought the game, played it, and formed my own conclusion. That's why. You pulled a link from a rumor and drew yours. Do you see the problem here?

The problem with this gaming community in recent years is the ever-so-evolving trend of relying on everybody else to think for them.

They go to friends, review sites, forums, and magazines to see what they thought about the game. T...

Very fun. There are many out there who haven't played the game and have expressed negative opinions about it. I just got an email on PSN stating that the game sucks, has glitches, and has 2006 graphics. He has no trophy list for the game.

What's sad is how people can't form their own opinions anymore. They read another person's review and repeat their words to everyone else.

I find it a great game for those who loved the Aliens movie. 9/10 for those that do.

COD fanatics will find interest here as well. Gameplay structure is similar. 9/10 for this group. High fun factor.

For those that have been following the game throughout development....5/10. It's rated on the letdown of high expectations without the promised delivery by Gearbox.

The game is underrated. I understand completely that the game isn't what Gearbox hyped it up to be. That doesn't mean the game should be rated lower due to a disappointment.

I feel the game delivered on many other fronts. I think where they underdelivered is the lighting effects and some key moments expected to be relived from the movies. As it stands I think it's a 9 or 10 for most Aliens movie fanatics wanting a video game representation.

Call of Duty isn't necessarily what people hate. I think it's more about how much it effects everything else in the industry.

Call of Duty is a popular game and it makes alot of money. It's also fast paced and fun. The problem I see is the justification by the industry in it's belief that games don't need to be expensive or of high quality to sell alot. They just need to be popular.

Just because COD didn't make it on a huge budge...

Aliens isn't as bad as COD.

I just played the game last night. Despite the game not living up to the demo I still find the game highly enjoyable.

The lighting effects aren't as good as the demo but I found that adjusting the game brightness properly made the atmosphere look good. Also I didn't use the flashlight much.

Overall I think this game is getting worse scores than deserved. It's not the greatest but I've seen terrible games score better. I just think the sc...
