Price drop wont help a long past dead handheld. That thing was dead before it launched, too expensive and most people want to actually own their media. Some digital download content is okay, but personally I want to own everything. Those talking about Ipods or MP3 players and saying we download content for those, true enough but most of those downloads are FREE. If you know what I mean?
Cant wait till these articles stop, cant say something is going to fail when it sells millions on launch day. Hopefully then we can MOVE on to real failures.
Though it's just my opinion, it's all just fake and for fun. I've never been scared from a game or movie.
Also, if they come out with a Fable 3 iteration that works with it I am sure it would score fine. You need to consider that they will judge a game slightly different for Kinect. I'm excited for it, not gonna start a pissing contest with people who feel differently though. To each their own. As for the people saying only kids and soccer moms will want this, I am neither and I also consider myself "Core" and in my 20's. I cant wait to get mine. Loved the demo's I got to pl...
It's more like 10 to 1. Just look at the DS or Wii or Farmville or any of that other stuff. It's popular now. Kinect will do well with those people and anyone interested in having fun. Which is what video games are for right? So who are we to judge?
For $199 you can jump right in, grab your free first month of live and your good to go. Then later, buy a HDD. It's a lot like a credit card, buy now and get the extra's later. Cant beat the 250 gig HDD at DealExtreme.
I consider myself core when it comes to games, but I pre ordered one the day after E3. Keep in mind Casual gamers outnumber core gamers by a rather large margin. So it will do fine, the big thing this will do is push the 4 gig arcade/Kinect bundle. I mean $299 for 2 consoles, an HD amazing console with a huge library of games and a new motion control console with a game. It's a good deal. Microsoft is going to clean up this Holiday. Cant wait to get my Kinect.
At Dealextreme for like $50, it takes a couple of weeks to get in the mail, but it's fantastic. I got a deal like this on a 4 gig Arcade, then got the 250 gig HDD, so I pretty much saved a ton of cash on it.
Then again, so is a giant Ape slinging poo.
I'm not a fanboy or anything, I could care less about consoles sold, I prefer the 360, but own all three and pre ordered Kinect off the possible future implications. I also think it'll be a blast to have some friends over and pop a few beers open and have some fun. XBL is also an interesting aspect, because those games can be played online as well.
in the world then "Core gamers" by far. So if Microsoft can attract casual gamers and get even a small % of the 42+ million current 360 owners on board they will be fine.
Also good games at launch and decent online would be solid for a change.
That was the one, I said all along I loved Microsoft's show. They were the one's who were going to make money right away off their E3 show and with Slim sales and Kinect Pre Orders, Reach, Fable 3 ect... They have done well. I loved the interface, the voice commands, hand movement detection ect.. Kinect looks like a lot of fun. I'm guessing at least a couple million other people think so as well. I see a good launch for Kinect.
Those are concept pieces, not something that is going to actually come out. Though I don't doubt we will see some peripherals in the future, maybe a gun or something for FPS games. It's controller free though, I'm guessing they want to stick with that. Seeing as how it's a clear alternative to bulky controllers.
It makes no sense for it to support Move honestly. I wouldn't want to use a motion control device for a racing game.
Pre ordered it the day after the impressive E3 performance. Cant wait! Midnight launch!.
I am the one who belongs in this topic. It's the PS3 fans that come to every Kinect article like a moth to a flame. I never said Wii Killer, also last I checked PS3 was in last place, so no need to destroy it. I am glad that we will get accurate units sold on Kinect though, if it sells 2 million on launch date, we know 2 million unique people bought it. Unlike the Move sales which were units shipped and they count every Nunchuk, wand and PS Eye as a "Move" sale. Which explains t...
I said it wasn't accurate, same with Move. I said I was excited for Kinect. How is that making me a "Stealth troll"? I cant say I prefer something that isn't Sony or Nintendo? I understand how concerned some of those Sony and Nintendo fans are, but trust me people are going to like what they want to like. I've tried Kinect, own a Wii and PS3, so not a troll or fanboy. It's just something I'm excited for.
they are not all rail games, they have regular ones as well, there is a ton of possibilities for Kinect. It's something that is going to be fun to play, added in XBox live will make it amazing, because XBL makes everything better. So yes, I'm excited.
Shipped isn't "Sold" IMHO. Also, they are counting every PS Eye, Nunchuk and Wand as a separate "Move sale" which explains the slightly higher numbers yet low numbers on actual Move games.
