I did that right after E3.
I already paid the $149 + tax, the only shocking thing for me is I get a game with it. I was expecting to put out more for a game and now I don't really have too. I was thinking of picking one up for my little brother as well.
I might go with the Arcade/Kinect bundle though, he has a launch 360, time for the upgrade.
Making it 20 gigs. I until recently got away with the original launch 20 gig Xbox 360. I only traded it in for the new 360s because it was such a great deal and I needed an upgrade.
People are going to flock to the new Arcade. Kinect is priced best with the bundle, an HD console with a motion control console and a game for $299 is going to look really good to a lot of people this holiday. So I would say to the non Microsoft fans, don't get hopes up of a failure.
I figured Microsoft would be dishing the more core titles next year.
I bet we see something core from Rare as well.
I very badly wanted to finish Master Chiefs story. I was kind of upset when I found out Reach was a prequel, We all know 343 is basically Bungie anyway or original Bungie. So that's good news.
I'm excited, Halo with Master Chief will get a huge pop from an E3 crowd.

I kept saying it would be $149.
The Xbox 360s Arcade is $199 with built in Wifi and 4 gigs of Flash memory and the Arcade 360s with Kinect and a game is only $299, which makes Kinect $99. That's the deal most people are going to go for.
I had already ordered Kinect for $149 so mines already paid for.
Picked up the 360s the week they came out. So I'm good. ...
The real deal is the Arcade/Kinect bundle. That is $299 and comes with the Arcade 360s and Kinect and the game for $299, making Kinect $99 in reality. I bet that is the main thing Microsoft is trying to push to be honest. $299 for an HD console and Kinect with a game and Free DLC is a great deal IMHO.
They just announced the Holiday Kinect/Arcade for $299 as well, also the new arcade is $199 by itself, 4 GB flash memory and built in Wifi. If you buy the bundle it makes Kinect only $99, hard to top that IMHO. It was a nice move on Microsoft's part.
Considering the PS3 slim saw a price drop but also had a downgrade overall, while the Xbox 360s is an actual upgrade, people seem to be responding to the value. I know a lot of people really wanted that wifi in there and now they can have it at no extra cost, along with a larger HDD and no Red Ring or anything like that.
So good on Microsoft. I have quite a few British friends on XBL who have the new 360s and love it.
That is odd. I mean it's a good game, but with issues. Red Dead is also solid, I have it on the 360 as well. Halo Reach, will probably sell 10-14 million, seeing as how it's the last by Bungie themselves and it's looking solid.
Not sure about GT5, it could be hit or miss IMHO. I think 4-6 million is the likelihood, I mean MGS4 is the best selling PS3 game of all time with less then 5 million sold, so it's not hard to imagine it not doing "Halo great" or whate...
Seriously though, it will be a solid game. Not much more you can add to a FPS these days though to make it extraordinary though. Just as long as it controls solid and I would prefer the ability to go prone in the game as well.
I think they should buy the minority shares and then eventually take over the company. Though, then everytime an Assassins Creed game came out, people would complain and say Microsoft was Milking the franchise, or "old ubi was good" like they say now days with Rare.
Either way, it'd be a way of getting another quality development team on board.
@PHIBALNATION
That was well said. I don't hate the PS3 either, as I have all three, but I do tend to think PS3 fanboys are very insecure.
It's just a game console, who cares what others think? I play what I want when I want to.
I enjoy the 360 much more then the PS3 and XBL is a huge part of that. As a competitive gamer with the key element being Competition, I find the lack of quality competition on the PS3 a factor in what console I'll buy a game for. I play a lot of Gamebattles, if anyone is familiar with that. It's the largest gaming competition site where teams play clan matches against one another.
Anyway, games, even multi plat games have far more teams on the 360 versions and 360 exc...
When you consider it's a full game and it's rather long at that. I mean we pay $65 for full games that can be terrible, this game is getting some of the best arcade scores I've ever seen.
Not a time to be stingy with a couple of bucks.
This game looks to be well worth the $12 or whatever. Also considering MW2 map packs are $15! This is a must have.
Everyone is talking about this game. Even industry people who aren't associated with the game itself.
Microsoft has really come through with it's Summer of Arcade deal. Excited is an understatement.
First is the price on the older 360's was simply amazing. Second was availability. I had to win a Gamestop lottery to get the new 360s. I won the lotto and still had to pay for it though, just to get the chance to purchase one. I suspect in the coming months with the 360s available more readily they will sell amazingly.
Look's like this game is the truth, so many great scores on it.
Definitely going to have to grab this title. Does metacritic count if it's an arcade title? cause this one seems like it'd rate high if that were the case.
All of them have this game being rated very, very high. Cant wait to download it and play this masterpiece.
Glad to see unique and interesting games are still being made and released. Summer of Arcade's here I come!
I originally thought it would be $119 or $129 but that was without a game. Since they are selling games at $49 I think it's a solid price and the Bundle is the best deal out there to be honest. $199 for the arcade alone is going to push that even more. Then add Kinect for only an extra $100 and thats a great deal. It's getting Kinect and a game for $100, which is better then a lot of things.
So I think they will sell Kinect for this price this year, then I look for so...
