I agree. Few actually think violent games turn people violent, just like how listening to Marilyn Manson or playing DOOM doesn't make you into a killer.
I've grown up with violent/sexual games, music, movies, and books and what I've learned is that it depends on the person playing them. I was huge into Unreal Tournament back in the day, along with Splinter Cell and Halo, and this article rings true for so many of the positive benefits that come from playing wit...
Ninja Gaiden for Xbox was an absolute masterpiece. What happened to that franchise?
I *really* hope you are being facetious.
My original account "RustedMan" I got rid of. Primarily because of the weirdly contentious debates going on that felt incredibly toxic to the community, and detrimental to the industry at large.
Gamers are insanely hard to please. They made a mistake, they are a T.I.N.Y. developer with a few dozen employees. They are working insanely hard to bring to fruition their initial pitch. How about we actually commend them for sticking to their game rather than chastise them for "LYING TO US ALL". Their previous games were Joe Danger, a digital storefront variant.
But please continue belittling an indie developer while *actual* evil publishers say, "screw it...
okay, I'll bite.
I friggin adored Arkane's version of Prey (it's basically the spiritual successor to System Shock that we never got) but I would have loved to see the bounty hunter iteration of the sequel as well, perhaps as it's own IP.
and it's the color of Nintendo's other favorite thing: money.
taika waititi is directing Akira. I think it's in good hands.
no. It's trying to be edgy. This is the videogame equivalent to when a movie gets "banned" from release. Something like "Cannibal Holocaust" or "120 Days of Sodom".
Manufactured controversy, let alone *actual* controversy is the easiest way to court attention without doing any heavy lifting.
Sweet.
what? whose talking about making a witcher game?
Just give me Chloe...And make it a dating simulator.
I don't know why you'd use that as a rebuttal.
Bioware Edmonton and Bungie were damn near flawless before releasing those games.
This is the thing that bugs me most. I loved my xbox and ps2, loved my 360 and my PS3, and love my PS4....I never bothered getting a new Microsoft system because it just felt like they were acting like the DCEU of videogame competitors.
I one hundred percent agree with you that Coalition and 343 need to create their own IPs.
Bungie left HUGE shoes to fill, and 343, while incredibly capable, has struggled with their vision of the Halo IP.
Micro...
where did you get 18 years?
Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Avatar: The game
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
And love it or hate it, Enter The Matrix really scratched the itch for Matrix games as well.
There were a bunch of fun Bond games, but Goldeneye and World's Not Enough (running on the ski lines in multiplayer was too much fun back in day)
Nightfire was also really great, as well.
Escape from Butcher Bay remains one of the best games I've ever played.
I'm just floored over just how pointless this article was. Not even the subject matter or anything, but that absolutely nothing was said. Just a few twitter posts, a few images and maybe a few hundred words.
"and so much more".
...What?
I absolutely adore the Metal Gear Solid games, but MGSV was an incredibly weak game. It made for a decent enough stealth experience, but the story (basically the glue that holds this entire franchise together) felt scattershot, derivative and quite frankly, uninterested in telling its own story past the opening segment.
I wouldn't blame Kojima for that, per say, it just feels like shaky work of a brilli...
