I've been thinking about it and I kind of wish they hadn't used SSB as a sort of template but rather Power Stone. Not enough games like Power Stone and Allstars probably wouldn't have received such outrage for modelling off of it.

There are very few games with actual strong female leads, and a lot of them end up being subordinated. I'm thinking Samus Aran, Lightning answering to Amodar and many more. It seems there's always ultimately a patriarchal figure.

AC games are way too choreographed and stylistic with their violence, it's pretty weird.

Totally agree. It's just so arrogant to write off any Final Fantasy game like this article does. Too much imagination, creativity and thought goes into these games to just say "nah that game sucks", it's just wilful ignorance if you ask me.
None of those games are bad.
X-2 is absolutely brilliant, people just need to lighten up. Soundtrack was masterful, and the story was just spellbinding.

Yes but if Versus became XV, it'd be the first time more than one numbered game featured the same sort of universe. Type-0 is a spin off of the XIII universe, sort of like Tactics and Vagrant Story are to XII (I know they came before it but you know what I mean).
My point is I think Versus should stay Versus. A numbered FF game has to be unique alongside all the other numbered games for me.
