I mean, considering it's had like six 9/10 reviews from six major publications it's average critical performance will probably come to about 8.9/10 or something. It's certifiably a good game, just maybe not perfect in everyone's eyes; then again what game is?
Funny though, that the score was tallied wrong for this review, it really should be a 9. Still, the reviews so are strongly in this game's favour which only makes sense to me. It definately blows most of the trite rehashed...
Meh, couldn't care less. Bit of an anti-climax.
Definately one of the better reviews I've read. I think the thing makes people naive about this game is their implicit tendencies to measure the game up to it's predecessors. Surely 13 games in you should realize that you're never going to get the same final fantasy twice. Each Final Fantasy is basically Final.
You may not say it, you may even deny it, but it's quite obvious that a lot of people make these subconscious comparisons.
People who say it's "lacking" to me ...
I couldn't care less about Starhawk. Never played Warhawk, never thought it looked very good, and it wouldn't really be much of a surprise. We all know it's in development.
For it to qualify as a surprise it would have to be something like Syphon Filter, MediEvil, Crash Bandicoot, Klonoa, Tomba, Wipeout or Tenchu.
We'll either see Syphon Filter, MediEvil, Crash Bandicoot, Wipeout, Tomba 3, Klonoa 3, The Getaway or Tenchu.
And if it's not one of those, it has to be either Killzone 3, Infamous 2 or Motorstorm 3, but those as it's been mentioned a lot here would be far too obvious.
I forgot about MediEvil. I'd definately buy a remake or a sequel. That would be stellar.
An announcement for a sequel to Tombi 2 (Or Tomba 2 as it's known in the US), would basically empty my bowels for me immediately.
Though, it's almost definately Killzone 3, Motorstorm 3 or a new Syphon Filter.
It won't be another Heavenly Sword. They canned the sequel.. tragic really, so much room for improvement.
And I don't think Sony would announce Resistance 3, that'd be Insomniac's job.
It only does women with no visible genetalia....
Mmmmm, she's definately one of the hottest video game characters ever. There's no ass that perfect in reality, which is actually a little bit depressing..
The ps3 can correct time space anomalies; evidence that it's alien technology. It is the monolith from 2001.
I may speak for quite a few people when I say that I need to resume playing Heavy Rain! We'll pull through though. Hold fast hope!
I need to play Heavy Rain!! I need to advance the story!! I need to know what happens!!!
Which they won't, I'd steal one and smash it to pieces. Besides, they wouldn't subsist on third parties alone. No one would care enough.
It's some obscure sh**ty discount site trying to get on the radar. On amazon and others, Final Fantasy XIII is one of the top ranked games for the ps3 in terms of popularity. Besides, considering the controversy surrounding the apparently inferior 360 version, maybe people were searching on a discounted site for not only a possibly cheaper game due to quality, but also at a discounted price. Stingy b**tards...
But the final product of Reach can't look as good as Killzone 2. Maybe it'll be an enjoyable game, but graphically it's never going to challenge Kz2.
Listen, it's quite possible that the graphical difference is negligible between the consoles - as it is with most games - and SE just wanted to make their job a little bit easier. They have stated on multiple occasions that they wanted more than anything to get the game to western shores as soon as they could.
I actually hope that when we see an actual comparison, the difference is essentially non-existent. It seems to me like SE haters are just clutching on straws at this poin...
The only milking actually going on is the use of the Final Fantasy title. Final Fantasy as a franchise has gone on for as long as it has because each game is radically different from the last.
SE are going to get many more games out of Final Fantasy because of this. They constantly innovate. So it's pretty dumb to predict that the franchise'll peter out.
And don't rag on FFXIII because it lacks elements you liked from previous games. If it did contain such elements, that would ...
Totally different games man. I don't think one or the other can categorically be called better.
The reviews are far too divided. There's no way to glean any sort of personal impression of the game until you've actually played it.
I personally think it looks phenomenal and from scouring the net for reviews I've come to the conclusion that it will be amazing.
I saw a comment on the page through that link and someone said that if the game wasn't called Final Fantasy, it'd probably do so much better. Which is true. Final Fantasy as a series has so much expectat...
The first game was weak. And the graphics for both versions of this onw look bad in their own ways.
