I don't think this is going to be something as high profile as XIII-3, I think it's going to be some sort of spin-off.

"Key members", not the whole team, the saga of "key character Lightning", a "new direction" for the saga, hmmm, all sounds very spin-offy. Which is sort of annoying. I just want XIII-3.

I'm not a fanboy for any company, but people need to understand that this is a real reason to hate Microsoft.

No disrespect to the man, but if your videogame source material is ALREADY SHIT, then how could the movie possibly be any better? Videogame movies always suck as it is.

I mean he was far from being the greatest filmmaker of all time, but still, Gears of War? Really?? I really think that would've tarnished his career.

R.I.P. nevertheless.

Look fella, when I use words like subliminal and unconscious, I'm not saying the game's piping a little message into your head like "kill people kill people kill people", on some undetectable wavelength, I'm saying that your understanding of and your attitude towards violence can be affected by how violence is portrayed, in ANYTHING. Films, books, publications, games, the opinions of other people, the daily news, daily experience etc all these things are constantly and i...

So many characters that should be there. I really hope they have a lot more to reveal, and if they don't reveal them, they should at least announce that the game will contain like twice as many characters as this. I'm honestly not interested if they don't.

Definitely, this just isn't enough characters for me. If they actually announce 16 more it'd be a dream.

Everything looks like it's a miniature model close up, and in some of those pictures, like it's made of rubber.

Idk, Agni's philosophy looked a lot better than this...

It's mostly just like the garbage you hear on the radio, which isn't hard to emulate. All of the lyrics and vocals are just completely cringeworthy. Honestly that soundtrack almost spoiled the game for me. Takeharu Ishimoto is easily the worst videogame / rpg composer.

I don't understand why that soundtrack gets so much praise. Listen to an SMT soundtrack if you want a better version without the ridiculous vocals.

This all has a really awesome aesthetic. This should be FFXV.

That's a theme from the first one, there's no doubt this is the sequel.

Kinda wish they'd get the composers of SMT to do the music for this though. The soundtrack to the last one was vapid.

I want some meatier DLC, like Shivering Isles. I'm not bothered getting Dawngaurd for my PS3 version and the idea of this doesn't really appeal to me...

Also lol at "Skyrim appears to be working on.."

How do you understand responsibility for ones own actions? A lot of what you think and assume is based on stuff that's inculcated into you at an unconscious, subliminal level. I'm not talking in terms of ridiculous conspiracy shit here, but really just in terms of how people take in information and construct their understanding of the world.

As games become more ubiquitous, people just need to retain a certain diligence. The more ubiquitous something is, the more infl...

It's not that simple, you're being naive and strangely fatalistic. People aren't necessarily born killers. Circumstances of birth are obviously operative for some, but for others they can just change over time, have certain ideas sediment into their world views. Everything influences this, from life experiences to how your relate to and are positioned within you culture and your society, and even to how the media and other people have shaped your opinions and understanding of the ...

Yeah I agree, most sandbox games really forget that attention to detail that makes GTA games great. Also the overall interactivity of the world.

Ugh, tired of N4G. Be critical about anything and you're met with single condescending sentences by wilfully ignorant and arrogant people.

I just wish you wouldn't reply unless you have an argument to make. Such a mob mentality around here.

Definitely most excited about the bike. Bikes in GTA games are THE most fun ever. I just hope you can do bunny hops.

@Sevir: What evidence did I give that suggested I eschew experimentation and non-conventional stuff in games? I encourage it, but just because it's not conventional doesn't automatically make it good, QD games to me are a case in point.

Gamers have just been mesmerized by it's presentation because they're not used to being given things like it. If YOU had any idea what you were talking about, you'd probably realize this; realize that HR is not the advent o...

Roger Ebert should play L.A. Noire, not these overrated, melodramatic, pretentious Quantic Dream games with their juvenile plots which they take so seriously.

Heavy Rain is about as mature as the Saw films. It thinks it's exploring it's themes in a really deep way but never really scratches their surfaces. Plus the voice work is atrocious, and there's loads of unnecessary, showy scenes, i.e. Ethan waking up in the middle of the street whereupon he's suddenly s...

Have you ever played one? If not you're a total philistine.

All the games you mention have great stories, but I wouldn't exclude Final Fantasy games. If you actually realized how immense they were in all their aspects you wouldn't be exluding them. Which leads me to believe you haven't played one, or at least haven't played one with an open mind.

We're living in this atheistic, scientific culture where anything that expresses even a sh...

It's how that questionable stuff is portrayed though. A lot of films are guilty of the same immaturity as games are. Most games portray violence in a fetishistic, "awesome" way, which is just immature.

There's not really a double standard, just the fact that a lot of the best films deal with such themes in a more mature manner.

If a film has a disturbing rape scene with a myriad of implications and then a game like Battle Raper is inspired b...
