Man, someone else asked Shinji Hashimoto about Versus not being at TGS and he said "That's right, I'm sorry".
So I guess soon definitely doesn't mean TGS... Agh, that's frustrating.
Judging from the GZ video they could definitely make a pretty awesome horror game with that lighting and weather.
Holy christ. Some of the best graphics and real time cinematics I've ever seen. The animation looks a lot more realistic too, like it doesn't have that same arcadey sort of feel from previous games (wasn't anything wrong with that).
Looks like we'll be playing as Old Big Boss this time haha.
Woah, did not see that coming. Didn't think mgs had that much left in it. Man this is awesome news, can't wait to see where they take it, gameplay wise and story wise.
This is just the word of some fan club member, not an official announcement. I'm waiting for real confirmation of this.
I mean those postcard things at the 25th anniversary did say "please wait for his turn to appear", and clearly the anniversary isn't covering Versus, so it's very possible that his "turn" is to come at TGS.
Yeah you're the only person who seems to have noticed this haha.
At this point with all the stuff they've been saying recently it's seems pretty likely that it's going to show up at TGS.
EDIT: Okay well it is purportedly a member of the Square Enix Members fan club or something claiming he was told this by Shinji Hashimoto but... I don't know, something smells fishy if you ask me. Why would Hashimoto tell that to some website moderator? T...
So true. So many games have no subtlety and no elegance when it comes to narrative.
I like the sound of this a lot. That concept art for the world looks gorgeous, and the prospect of freely exploring it is exciting.
My only worry: This doomsday thing, and the expenditure of time... How many hours of gameplay will this game have? Presumably it's not real time, i.e. 312 hours (?!) so I just hope it's not a short burst of a game because of this plot / gameplay decision. Also, is there a clock continuously counting down while you play? That seems a bit t...
But don't you understand that they can't just make the same thing over and over just because people like it? There's no satisfaction in that for them. Like I said we don't have to unconditionally love everything they put out, but we should appreciate that they want to try other things too, and we should also appreciate the effort that goes into that, and the difficulty of balancing personal vision with consumer demand.
Fyi, I've played every FF from III al...
You make good points, but let me just say that when I played XIII, I didn't necessarily like the direction they took it in terms of numerous aspects, it seemed to me like there was a lot of room for improvement and that square had perhaps fumbled it a little. Having played all of them so far with the exception of I and II, It's far from being my favourite FF game. But I suppose my problem is that XIII isn't an abysmal game, Square did some things right in it and I think they shoul...
I hear ya man. Perhaps I should just find somewhere else to post haha, I feel like I post this same rant like every week. Probably kind of futile.
If you really want SquareEnix to improve you could start by not constantly heralding their doom.
None of you could create music like the score of XIII / XIII-2 and if you thought the music sucked, then, far be it from me to usually say something like this, but I'm afraid you just have no taste. The same can be said for the visual design. I defy any one of you to design anything even close to the caliber achieved in those games.
The problem is that people...
That's confirmation of a sequel if I ever saw it. "NEW seven days"?? Some unknown character?? Definitely.
Definitely looks like Old Snake to me. you can see a sort of nylon strap thing going over his shoulder and a vague glimpse of what could be a bandana just above the grey hair, which looks about the same length we're used to from Snake.
It also seems possible that the caption says something like "Snake is...???" Dead perhaps haha? Maybe Alive?
@DA_SHREDDER: Really? Hmmm, well the games explore two pretty different areas. The thing about ZOE is that most people have only played the two games when there's a film and an anime and a gba game. So yeah, ZOE is a lot denser than I think a lot of people realize, but still, overall I think it's much more accessible than mgs and conceptually a lot simpler if you ask me. I mean it borrows a lot more than mgs does.
Exactly what I was thinking, I can see this game hopping between different time periods. The title sort of suggests that.
I'm guessing it'll probably feature events involving Zero in the span of time between MGS3 and 4, which is reinforced by the image of what seems to be Big Boss and as I mentioned, the actual title of the game. The phantoms thing then seems like it has to refer to Solid and Liquid. So you've got two pretty distinct time periods in mgs history ri...
Yeah I don't think people realize the potential XIII-3 actually has.
Although evidence is mounting that it's not XIII-3 that we're gonna be getting, but some manner of spin-off. Still, they made things much more interesting in XIII-2 and they have a great opportunity here.
I feel like they've been working hard to achieve that with this. I don't care what anyone says, I'm still as excited for this game as I've ever been.
Meh, all the DLC so far looks meh anyway. I'm content to wait for something proper.
Yeah I mean Sakaguchi isn't untouchable. He's obviously had a lot to do with a lot of great games but The Parasite Eve games are pretty dreadful, and The Spirits Within is one of the most boring films I've ever seen.
