Way too far. Some people don't have enough money to buy all the cool videogames, albums, films they want to see, so they're forced to download a few.
How are people supposed to expand their horizons / tastes if governments police them like this? Capitalism's just having a tantrum at the moment.
@wishingW3L
FFS that quote... enfuriating.
Clearly they focus tested the game on a bunch of fuck!ng COD playing morons. If they'd showed it to most of the people posting on here, they would have gotten a very different response. But yeah, EA are probably complicit in this.
I don't think ideology is the right word. Attitude maybe. I agree with you though. It's pretty closed minded to think that something cartoony or exaggerated is necessarily immature.
It's just ignorance really, ignorance to artistic possibility.
Yep, focus groups, just as I thought. EA's brainwashing them, turning them to the dark side.
Hmmmmm...
I don't prefer the graphics of IV. Such a dull pallette.
The physics I'll give it. But the previous games are just as enjoyable.
The driving I'll give it. But the previous games are just as enjoyable.
Niko Bellic is barely a character. Psychopath or caring person? No definite answer there. It's the flaw of sandbox videogame characters, which basically makes them non-characters.
Liberty City's good. I have ...
Hahaha this is awesome. I didn't realize this was happening.
What are Insomniac doing? Sometimes it's good to forsake your roots, but in this case it's bad. They MUST see how Skylanders is just a big corporate venture. Do they even realise how magical their Spyro games were? Nothing will ever compare to those games. They shouldn't just denounce them like that.
I think something bad is happening to Insomniac, I really do... Slowly killing off R&C, eradicating any trace of humour from OverStrike, acting aloof about Spyro ...
If that's true I ain't buying.
If it's false then that guy should be fired.
The next game? So this basically confirms another game after III?
I'm betting it'll be the second game in a "Connor Trilogy".
I have a feeling we'll get Richard Doyle...
It sounds awesome, but it does feel like they're latching onto videogame trends a bit though with the whole open world / hub world thing, and the whole mission structure thing if that's what it sounds like. Even the animation is completely overhauled. It definitely doesn't seem to have that arcadey MGS feel. In it's place it's got this cinematic, gritty, realistic feel.
I'm sure it'll be awesome and with Kojima at the helm it'll unmistakably BE...
It's pathetic how a lot of people have become servants of these big game companies. How is it they've come to be, in a sense, owned by these corporations? Stop being consumer drones and start being critical.
I wonder what a post-snake world will be like.
Also, to all people who are claiming this game is non-canonical, where are you getting that information? I don't think it's been confirmed either way.
Since MG games are probably going to be multiplat from now on, there's no reason why Rising mightn't tie in to MGS5 or even Ground Zeroes. It could be really awesome if it does.
I didn't really think it would be tbh.
I think Insomniac might be losing the plot a bit, as much as it pains me to say it.
Lots of different people like different things for different reasons, and I don't agree with this generalization, but it's still the case that an awful lot of meathead bros, who have never touched another game, play COD, and that's probably part of the reason why each COD iteration is virtually the same.
It's entered pop culture, and so it'll be milked until it's dry and withered. Stale beyond repair.
That's all well and good, and I hope it'll be a good console. It'll likely do a lot better than the Wii.
But like, what about when the next Playstation and the next Xbox? They're probably due pretty soon, and they'll likely more powerful consoles.
And almost all are upper middle class.
You should really play all the games in the series thogh. Kind of pointless otherwise.
Plus Chain of Memories is criminally overlooked.
If this ends up being the average critical response I'll sort of be happy. Those games really need to mix it up a bit.
