The minimum recommended specs on PC are even lower than what Series S can do… so does that mean PC is holding back the Series S?

Also, there are plenty of examples for a game having a performance mode on Series X and not S, so what exactly does the Series S have to do with the topic?

They didnt just speculate, they elaborated with real world examples.
Its not like they said it cant done, they explained fhat if the game is CPU bound, a performance mode is not really about dropping resolution, that hardly makes a difference, which is why they mentioned Star Citizen doing 60fps and 90+ GPU utilization in exploration parts but doing 20+ fps in cities and barely doing 30% GPU utilization there.

If you want another example, just look at Plague Tale,...

You are ASSUMING that the recommended specs will actually do a locked 60fps, there isn’t anything reported that confirms it will.
So why make a big point out of it if you don’t actually know if the recommended specs can do a consistent 60fps?

Its not like they didnt said it never reach 60 on SX, they said it was not consistent. If I had to guess, exploration was fine, but anytime you got to major settlements it was not going to be close to that and they didnt want ...

I cant really say previous Bethesda games were poorly optimized in terms of performance.

They were horribly buggy, no doubt about it. But they have never been particularly terrible in terms of performance given that they were never particularly advanced graphically.

The issues that started to crop up, were usually once you had the game track way too many objects when you got further into the game

@Silly Mammo

Except that there is no difference. They are exclusive now and thats all that matters.
All those other comments are just console wars irrelevant topics.

Again, does it make any difference for the person playing the game knowing it previously was not exclusive? No, they are already playing it

Does it make any difference to the person who cant play it because its not multiplatform anymore? No, they still cant play ...

@Apocalypse

And without a doubt the biggest asset that Sony has in terms of fast and consistent releases was also a purchased studio…. Insomniac.
Does it matter that they were purchased now that they are making PS exclusives? No
Do I care that they were bought when playing their games? No
Would an Xbox only gamer get anything from knowing they were bought when they still cant play the game? Also no..
Saying they are purchased studios or n...

Except you cant stomp content at level 80 in the same way you did at 20.

There are entire builds that are perfectly fine for all the way up to 50, but afterwards become completely inefficient for higher leveled content.

In the same regard, you cant actually spec out for some of the best builds in the game until you are higher leveled because you lack either the skill points, the paragon points, the glyphs or just the resources to customize gear in a speci...

If all that mattered was the level then yes, but that is not the case, just as you continue to level up, you continue to gain additional means to specialize your build in ways you couldn’t before.

Someone who is level 70 or 100 should absolutely have all the tools necessary to be much more effective than someone at a lower level even with the game scaling the enemies for both of them.

And if they are taking the same amount of time to kill an enemy as some...

This literally doesn’t have anything to do with approving or denying the deal….

Its a restraining order and an injunction to prevent MS from just going ahead and doing the deal before they have the August 12 trial, because apparently the FTC “heard” they were thinking of doing that.

Practically nothing has changed, they will still both go to court on August 12 and it will be decided then

Im playing it on PC, so cant say about the PS5 implementation.

It does sound weird that there is no rumble at all.

That said, the point about good dualsense implementation in specific still applies for me, given just how good a few games have shown it can be, its definitely disappointing (though not entirely unexpected) how poorly supported it is

1132d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

Dualsense implementation in most games?

Which games? other than Astro and Ratchet I’ve been massively dissatisfied in almost every other game’s implementation, especially because those 2 showed how great it can be (just like how it happened with most Switch games)

Even more so with PSVR2 games. I was really hoping for some great implementation there

The NDA probably also mentions that you cant say you are playing it haha

Well, from SkillUp’s review, they apparently gave reviewers the information about what would be in the store including prices (obviously not for every single thing).

I dont really see them particularly far from the current MT prices on every other game so it would make sense it didnt cause an uproar.

That said, they are unbelievably stupid prices that wouldnt exist if not for streamers/whales (though many whales tend to be streamers)

I know right? Especially since its pretty well know that EVERY SINGLE PERSON in a company is a game developer… therefore obviously any other initiatives are clearly taking away necessary resources…. They better start managing the resources for cleaning and security staff more effectively to make better games too

I would love that too, and I definitely believe Gamefreak needs to expand their studio.

But on the other hand we also have to be realistic that a mainline pokemon game will probably never have sufficient dev time because the financial implications of it must be massive and in no way justified from a business perspective.

That said, as they start to move to more complicated games due to more advanced hardware, I wouldnt be surprised if they have to do an A...

Well, I would certainly like to see how you expect a game with a development time of less than 2 years be the same as one of 6…

Zelda probably hadnt even gotten into full production and were jusy prototyping during the time Gamefreak has to make their entire game

1138d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Or.. one has 6x more time to release their game with as many delays as they need while the other one is tied to the production and release calendar of the biggest media franchise in the planet?

You can blame Gamefreak to some extent for not hiring more people, but they will still be bound to release schedules that are massively shorter than anything else on the market (other than sport franchises which… who could tell.. are also always lacking innovation)

@foxtrot

Because reviews are not a merit point system in which you start at 10 and substract points at any issue you find?

Its not like its that hard to see why, not all issues are the same and not every time is there plenty of other things to make those issues seem less important.

You can have a Zelda game, which is doing some really heavy CPU mechanics having some slowdown on well known specific and reproducible scenarios but pretty m...

No one mentions it? I’ve seen it mentioned in practically every single review…

Also, no one has called a game having moderate drops from 60 unplayable. They are called unplayable when they release with a ton of bugs.

I cant even begin to imagine the kind of latency you would get if it were fully remote.

Cloud gaming is already latency bound when connecting to multi million dollar data centers with dedicated hardware, software and networking.
Imagine how that would play out when you are connecting instead to your PS5 that is on your home wifi and through all the ISP hops in between (not just for download, but upload too).

It is absolutely not doable as a devic...
