If you dont have VRR enabled on your TV, there is no reason to use it in the game either, it changes the dynamic resolution scaling a bit and whenever the game drops some frames, it will cause tearing.

Granted, you are unlikely to note them since it usually stays there and the smooth option doesnt really try to go over the target framerate, but it literally doesnt help you in any way if your TV has VRR disabled

Why though? If he doesnt have VRR enabled on his TV, it will only cause the game to tear if there is a drop (not that it happens that often) and provides literally no benefit to him, if anything it will also affect the dynamic resolution range to be affected too

Fidelity mode with uncapped framerate is 40-60, might get higher looking up at a wall or the sky I guess. It’s the uncapped performance mode that goes up to the 80s

For Fidelity VRR, I would actually recommend the Smooth option instead, since the VRR window in the PS5 actually starts at 48fps, not 40, so anything between 40 and 48 will not actually be using VRR. I still like that they have those options already though, it means they dont really need to do a patch for the ga...

I think its honestly more about the art in Horizon than the tech (not that the tech isnt impressive too). It even took them a couple of months to really enhance the performance mode which really took a hit at launch and thats without RT.

Visually I even prefer Ratchet to SP2, though again, SP2 might be technically more impressive.

All in all, either with Wolverine, Ratchet or something completely new, I really want to see Insomniac really expand all this ...

I’d even say Ratchet is a better looking game as well, though those 3 are all very different art styles that give the devs a bit more freedom than a realistic city environment (plus only Horizon is also an open world and its certainly not the same kind of density)

You can also really tell the difference in image quality when they do the linear slow paced sections, the characters and environments look WAY better

That said, its crazy just how good Insomniac...

Considering the article itself actually brings up (and praises) Hades as another example of a great implementation of NG+ and the entire article does properly explains all the points he is trying to make, I’m not sure why you are wondering about what games he has played or why he is writing the article.

On the other hand, your comparison to the simple narrative of an initial (or subsequent failed) runs in most roguelikes makes me think you havent actually played Starfield o...

While I agree its not really innovation and a game like Nier (or Hades) does it pretty amazingly as well (though I would argue it just does it differently), the way Starfield integrated it into the actual narrative of the game is pretty great too, not at all like some people mentioned above and compared it to when Rogue Likes integrates most of the repeat runs to the obvious initial failed attempt.

Starfield runs with the idea of not only the New Game plus option itself, bu...

Its barely an increase in storage size and the whole idea of a slim model (especially this one that is simplifying their entire manufacturing process) is that its gotten cheaper for them to make.
So the idea that they are now manufacturing the console for less, charging the consumers more for it, removing the stand and charging an obscene amount for it, also charging an inflated price for the disc add-on (in the UK and EU it’s honestly ridiculous), all while the actual size reduction...

Providing an EXAMPLE of someone of doing something is NOT providing EVIDENCE hahaha

And yes, you are asking for people to prove a negative by asking them to prove with evidence that your argument is false, rather than you providing it for why its right, it is quite literally what your last comment says

1007d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

How about you show evidence if that is what you like? As you are not really showing anything haha
Asking people to prove a negative to counter your argument doesn’t make any sense

@phoenixwing

And NMS didnt reach all that stuff with just 1 update either… there is a reason why I said it was a different scale (on many different levels), but it’s ultimately the same kind of example of sticking to the game. If anything, NMS shipped significantly more incomplete than CP2077.

Its not like those are the only examples, FF14 comes to mind as well. The point is that all that time and effort to basically be able to rerelease a game is not eve...

It means that comebacks like this (and probably just the same though on a different scale for something like NMS) are not really as easy to pull off as some people expect/hope which is why many games are just left forgotten

@Kaze

Releasing a poor port and being held back are completely different topics though.

Being held back means that developers chose not to include something because it literally cant be done on lower end platforms, which for PC in specific, there will always be lower end platforms regardless of whether they do consoles or not. Now we even have to consider the PC handhelds that are coming up that are even weaker than PS5 and SX.

Again, t...

Not necessarily designed to be played multiple times, but rather certain concepts of the story are neatly applied to the idea of new game pluses and people role playing in completely different ways from one play through to the other.

There isn’t necessarily a “true” ending after X number of playthroughs, but each one up to number 10 I believe do provide changes to the story (from minor ones to others that can be quite significant)

Its mostly for the main ...

How is it holding back SX and PS5 versions?

Thats like saying the PC version would be held back by the SS/SX/PS5 versions and yet PC is getting a full path traced mode…

Yes, scaling for SS (or lower end PCs) is and always will be, a significant amount of work, its not just “adjusting sliders”, but enough with the holding back nonsense… practically every aspect of a game can be scaled/tuned to meet any kind of hardware requirement

@Vengeance

So your argument against them NOT being big budget is that they have a long development time?….

You do understand that the budget is directly tied to how long it takes to make the game right…? (And how many people too of course)

Yeah, just running around any of the cities you will be getting a lot of sidequests from conversations you overheard.
Then you might get more side quests during the process of doing any other one in particular or from objects you find or you get a distress call while going to a particular planet, etc.
The process of quest / location discovery might not be exactly the same, but it is absolutely still there (and with a tons of sidequests to do as well)

The o...

@TheSawMill

Well, the difference is the process of replacing one is significantly harder than the other…
For one you just lift up the battery cover and put another pack (or even AAs temporarily) and for the other you have to open up the controller and your only alternative while you get a new battery is to connect it directly (not to mention many people will not replace an internal battery).

You could technically also get a bigger capacity pack t...

By regulation, they have to sell shares every now and then (though its always possible they can time certain actions based on when their next batch sale is happening)

Based on the actual % of shares sold by him and some other people, this seems the more likely scenario and the sites reporting it were just looking for clicks by making a more sensationalist story. The CEO for example sold like 0.06% of his shares….

That said, everything else happening is pr...
